![]() This is no ordinary lightsaber -- it sports two blades in one. |
You can also easily store the smaller Dual Action Lightsaber inside its larger twin by holding down the side buttons and releasing them once it is in place. By doing this, the Dark Side will have no idea that you are coming into battle with two weapons! Both lightsaber's light wands smoothly slide back down into themselves when your child is finished playing, leaving very little clean up.
Perfect 2-in-1 Toy for Star Wars Fans
The Star Wars Dual Action Lightsaber finally gives science fiction lovers the chance to have their very own lightsaber and take part in the eternal battle against the evil Dark Side. Both lightsabers look like those used in the timeless movies, and the lights and sounds are spot-on. One thing to keep in mind is that the lightsabers are not very bright when played in direct sunlight, but are perfect for indoors or darker areas. The lightsabers are also very lightweight, making them easy for younger children to use.
What's in the Box
One larger Sith Dual Action Lightsaber, and one smaller Sith Dual Action Lightsaber. (Batteries not included.)

Ehhh..closer to 3.5 stars. My son is in the throes of a major Star Wars: The Clone Wars addiction and this is somewhere around the sixth lightsaber in our house. That said, I am something of a lightsaber expert. Compared to others, this one is just average in features and a bit pricey..shop around and keep a few of things in mind:
1) This is NOT a "force action" lightsaber. In other words, it does not spring open with the touch of a button but rather must be opened with a flick of the wrist. OK for some kids, but smaller ones might have a hard time opening it fully. 2) The extra, smaller lightsaber works the same way. It detaches as advertised, but is somewhat balky to get re-attached. Also, it doesn't make any sound. 3) The sound of the big lightsaber is pretty realistic, but as one reviewer already noted it is not that bright compared to other electronic lightsabers..it also doesn't seem as loud. The small "blade" isn't very bright either. And all together this model uses more batteries than most. 4) If your kids are like mine, they will beat the living daylights out of anything and everything with these things..each other, trees, furniture, me, etc. The other electronic lightsabers my son and his cousin have used don't stand up very well to repeated whacks and ultimately lose either the sound or the light. That said, however, the plastic "blades" tend to hold up pretty well. It has been my experience that the manual versions like this one tend to have fewer problems opening and closing (long term) than the spring-open, "force action" variety. Good luck, and may the Force be with you.

My 7 year old son is a Star Wars freak, this was one of his birthday gifts and he loves it. Carries it around everywhere in his backpack with his other lightsabers. This lightsaber is a little bigger than the regular ones, just something to keep in mind.

My son "absolutely HAD to have this toy." It is way over-priced, and for the amount of batteries it takes, it barely lights up. He is enjoying playing with it currently, but the construction quality isn't good so it probably won't last.
