5.0 out of 5 stars THE best Star Wars figure
I had the original Star Wars figures when I was a child. Now I have bought the new ones for my son. I have to say, out of all the ones I had and he now has, THIS one is the best. It's a regular size R2-D2 figure AND it has a push-button feature to where it lights up and makes one of three noises from the movies. My son absolutely loves this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars hasbro has gone re-issue crazzzy!
unless you are a completist (like steve sansweet) you probably already bought this figure 3 years ago with the attack of the clones/saga collection card it is no different except that it doesn't have any accessories as it the former mentioned had.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily one of the best Star Wars figures EVER!, November 3, 2005

Hasbro's new "Revenge of the Sith" Electronic R2-D2 figure is a Star Wars collector's dream come true! He's the same size as the regular Star Wars action figure line R2-D2s, only this one has light and sound effects built in! Pushing a panel on the front of R2's body produces one of 6 (if I counted correctly) different sound responses along with lighting the "eye" on R2's dome! R2 looks and sounds just like he does in the Star Wars saga! His side legs are poseable, as is the foot on his center leg, though it does not go up into his body. His dome does not rotate, of course, due to the special effects he offers. His batteries do appear to be replaceable, as there is clearly a removeable panel in his back. True, an R2-D2 with light and sound was released a few years back, for Episode 2 I believe, but that R2-D2 figure was much harder to find (at least, in my area). Also, there IS a new remote-control R2 figure available through the official Star Wars online store, among other sources, but that one is quite a bit more expensive. This R2 is highly affordable, seems to be plentiful, and is a great chance for those of us who missed the Episode 2 release to pick up an electronic R2 of our own! He does NOT disappoint! Get yours today!

I didn't collect figures from the Prequels until ROTS, so even though this figure may have been issued before, it was new to me. What a great figure, though! I would have loved to have had this when I was five back in 1978. It really is a kid's dream come true, as far as action figures go. No more making those boops and beeps on your own. Now kids will have the real movie sound effects built into their Artoo unit. I think the only figure that might compare, as far as quality and value, is the battle-damaged Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar, which I am having so much trouble finding outside of eBay.

This is the greatest R2/D2 figure yet. The sounds and lights are great, details are excellent.

I have been getting SW figures for my son and he loves them. I saw the chance for a remote controlled R2D2 and it is definatly the best. Same size as the figures, with lights and sounds, moves on its own by remote. It's hard to find. I got his from Japan. Why wouldnt they release it here? Lucas make enough $$$. Anyway this is a good add to any toy shelf but look for the remote R2D2 to complete the collection.
