5.0 out of 5 stars Great edible cake topper for your Clone Trooper!
Earlier this year I printed a picture from the internet and took it to a grocery store that would turn it into an edible image for a birthday cake I ordered. Well, it was faded and looked pretty sad on the cake. I found this edible image that was bright and looked great. I gave it to the bakery that made the birthday cake and they put it on without any problems. It...

3.0 out of 5 stars A novelty, but difficult to work with
I rather stupidly put all my eggs in one basket with this item, and was counting on it to decorate my son's birthday cake, so when I was failing to remove it from the backing without it ripping, panic started setting in.

I read and followed the directions that were sent with the image, which was, in all honesty, well packaged and promptly shipped. However, it...

However, it was so well stuck to the backing that no matter how much I worked it over the corner of the counter, it would not remove. I managed to get the picture off with much distortion of the image, but the edges broke in many places so it looked rather ragged.

However, I have to say that when he saw the picture, he was thrilled and not in the least bit concerned about the edges.

My advice would be to have a backup solution - something else to put on the cake if the image rips when you're trying to remove it.

Happy parties!

I like the item and the fact that it is easy to work with. The instructions on how to use are included and very specific. I refrigerated the picture since I wasn't going to use it for a couple of days, and I did have a bit of trouble with the edges cracking, but once I peeled it, I was able to put it on the cake without any trouble. Word of advice, make sure that you measure the area where you will be placing the edible image carefully. Once it was on the cake, I put the cake back into the fridge and took it out when I needed it. My 4 year old nephew and all his friends loved it!!!

I bought this for my four year old's birthday. Surprisingly there was no local store that had star wars. I'm a bit of a procrastinator and bought this on a Tuesday (party was on Sat). I received product on Friday and was able to take it to my local publix which applied the product for me!!! My son and his friends love it.

It came quickly. The image looked great. The only thing the cake decorator cautioned me on that the decoration may have needed refrigeration when we received it, and the decoration did not come with any instructions about this. Our turned out ok, even though we did not refrigerate ours. It looked great and tasted good.

3.0 out of 5 stars photo is misleading, July 24, 2009
This review is from: Star Wars Edible Image Cake Decoration (Kitchen)
The product has the same picture as the one on the page, but it is MUCH smaller than it appears. The desription said it fits and cake 8 inches or wider, so I assumed the image was at least 7 inches across. It is not, it is barely 5 inches square. I had to come up with decorations to fill in the rest of the cake top. Shipping cost was outrageous--more than the product.

Follow the directions completely and this product easily slides onto a 9X13 inch cake (with room for writing, etc). Image on ad shows blue icing, but white background highlights the picture. Be sure to "roll" as directed on a counter or other rounded table top. Gently peel off, and place on frosting before it sets. That way it adheres to the cake. Darth Vader candle to the side worked well.

I purchased this Star Wars Edible Image Cake Decoration for our grandson's birthday cake. Seeing his sweet little face light up when he saw the decoration on his 9th birthday cake was priceless. I must admit I was a little skeptical because I had not used this type decoration before nor had I eaten a cake with this type decoration, but it worked out beautifully and was quite tasty. It was easy to apply to the cake, although it did crack a little bit while being transported from our kitchen to the restaurant where we celebrated our grandson's birthday. Nonetheless, it was a big hit and that's all that matters to me.

I would recommend this product as well as the seller. Thank you!

Due to shipping error not the fault of this company, thier item was due to arrive after my son's birthday party.
I called, and the company immediately went out and sent me an item next day delivery.
No questions asked, very accommodating.
They averted a real problem for me in making my son's cake, best customer service experience I've EVER had.
BTW, the decoration was awesome. A big hit!

2.0 out of 5 stars What a waste of money, October 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I was so disappointed in this product. It came off the paper ok, with 1 small tear on the corner. Thankfully "Dream Birthday" sent instructions with it. I ended up with tears in several places just from placing it on the cake. Thankfully my daughter is only 4 and could care less. Too difficult to work with. Don't waste your money on this, just make your own. I made the lava planet on my son's cake and used 2 of my son's Star Wars figures battling. Looked much better and was cheaper!
