5.0 out of 5 stars full size firing star wars prop ...
I just recieved this for Christmas today and quite frankly, it is the most astounding SW toy I own. It's a full size movie prop, it moves, it talks, and it fires things at you! What other reasons do you want to buy this thing? My only concern is that I have only played with it for two hours and I've already lost a foam projectile (it comes with 12) down the back of the...

3.0 out of 5 stars A nice replica for ...!
I bought it because it was ... and the pictures on Amazon seemed to indicate it was nice. It does look rather nice sitting in the corner of a geek's living room.

Actually it is kind of neat idea, someone was at least trying to be creative at Hasbro. The unit has 2 infrared receivers on it so that it is able to track your light saber (which has 3 infrared LEDs on it)...

I bought it because it was ... and the pictures on Amazon seemed to indicate it was nice. It does look rather nice sitting in the corner of a geek's living room.

Actually it is kind of neat idea, someone was at least trying to be creative at Hasbro. The unit has 2 infrared receivers on it so that it is able to track your light saber (which has 3 infrared LEDs on it). Holding down the lightsaber button causes it to emit a low hum and begin transmitting the infrared signal. The droid spins around on its pole until it finds the signal and then will follow your light saber as you walk around. Then the droid starts to groan as it loads a disk and then fires it at you.

Forget about deflecting the disks- unless you really do have the Force! They fly so fast that the only time you see them is when they land! That's IF you can find them again!

The game is best when played in a large dimly lit room so that there are no infrared reflections from walls and mirrors to confuse it. Got my dogs to scatter pretty quickly ;)

In all, it was a fun buy and a very nice replica at ....

5.0 out of 5 stars Do you believe in the force?, April 20, 2001

You will after playing with this toy. It shoots the discs out so fast, you have to feel when to swing to bat them down, rather than see--"Your eyes can deceive you, so don't use them." If you want your kid to be able to hit a fast ball, get them started with this game. I got two of them, one for my nephew, one for myself on a whim. I got lucky the first time and managed to hit one out of twelve.

I was nervous that the game would work, but it blew me out of the water right away. The droid rotates smoothly on the stand, no sticking or catching and the discs fire at the speed of light. The light saber makes sound as you move it, you only have to keep holding down a button that let's the droid part you're ready.

There is no way you can go wrong with this toy. I would think it would have originally sold for around $40, it's a steal atthe price now. The kids will love it, you'll love it and so will your wallet.

I bought this toy, and all I can say is wow! The droid rotates on it's stand untill it detects your lightsaber. It will give 2-3 beeps (depending on which level your on.) There are two levels. Once it picks up your saber, the droid WILL track you anywhere it goes. Once you are in a still position it will fire a tracer disk at you, almost at the speed of light. Deflect it! The game works bet if you make sure that the back of the lightsaber is always facin the droid and you are directly behind the lightsaber. Overall it is an awsome game!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this toy for my six-year-old nephew's birthday party. It was an instant hit. Of all the toys he received this was the only one he wanted to play with. The setup is fairly easy, and the interaction even easier. Just walk around the probe and block the disks it shoots out. The disks move a little to fast to block with any consistency but what else would you expect with nerf disks. Anyhow, since it was a gift I can't say anything about battery life or durability. For the price this gift was well worth the purchase.

This product is quite simply the bee's knees. Why Amazon requests a rating for educational value is beyond me - there is absolutely no educational value in trying to 'home run' a foam disc to all corners of the room. But that's not the point. Totally wasted on children, this product will provide seconds of fun for kids (before they revert to the latest offering for the Playstation, X Box or Gamecube) but lifelong enjoyment for adults - an absolute must to liven up any sophisticated dinner party. I haven't got a Sith Probe Droid and am intensely jealous of friends who have. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get this item back in stock before I resort to selling my flat and moving in with anyone lucky enough to own one.

My son received this toy a while back and while it looks nice, it never worked properly. The Probe Droid part would spin and beep a lot but it would very seldom actually shoot out the disks. You had to hold the light saber just inches away from the sensors to maybe get a disk to shoot out. My son would grow impatient and gave up on using it. We finally threw out the droid part, keeping just the light saber, which my son still plays with.

This thing is one of the COOLEST toys out there! It has a motion sensor to find you, then it shoots out a little round foam disc for you to hit! (kinda like a baseball pitching machine) And at the price you cant go wrong!

My 9-year-old absolutely went NUTS over this toy. It teaches "the force" to young jedi apprentices, very similiar to the high-tech version that trains Luke in Star Wars. A must for a young star wars fan!
