When I first heard plans to release Jango's Slave 1, I was afraid that Hasbro would try to save money by pawning off a cheaper version of the original (or the last remake). My fears seemed to be further fortified when I picked up the box and noticed the "firing action" this model had. That, and the new coloration seemed a bit on the extreme side of things. Still, it needed me and begged me to buy it, and I'm a sucker for a bounty hunter in need, so I bought it. After opening it and putting it together, I have to say that I'm glad I did.The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the coloration wasn't that bad at all. In fact, it looked quite good, and that amazed me after seeming the box. The colors seemed to mesh together with the design, giving a bit of distinguishment between the Slave 1's. One good thing about the coloration is that it isn't sticker reliant, so I have yet to accidentally botch any of my decorating attempts. After staring at it for a few hours, its grown on me quite nicely. To add to this, there were the things that had been redesigned, from the enlargement of the cockpit to fit two (which is superbly crafted and opens instead of the back opening) to the firing mechanisms that hide neatly away, concealing that red weaponry. Also, there were the wing stabilizers, a piece that is actually articulate and makes the wings seem to have a function. I have to say that this turned out to be a really nice buy, and I'm quite pleased with the attention that seems to have been paid to this toy. All in all, I would rate it highly and recommend it to everyone. You really need it!

... I went to other sites to see additional pictures of the new Slave I and finally decided to buy it.I got it yesterday, and boy, am I glad! This new Slave I honors the whole Fett concept: it's the ultimate bountyhunter ship for the most infamous bountyhunter(s), with an assortment of secret weapons. The new concealed missiles and sonic charges are really a plus, although the rotating missile launcher of my toy tends to fail. Comparing the new and the old Slave I, there's a striking difference. The new toy is heavier and has more fuselage parts, but is far, FAR more detailed and proportioned than the old one, which looks blunt in comparison. And I don't miss the opening hatch that much, since this toy is NOT scaled to the action figures' size (An accurately scaled Fett figure for this ship would be 1.5 inches tall at most). So, this one is heavier, more proportioned and more accurate... but above all, it really is FUN, even if you're 25 years old.

Jango Fett is very cool. But let's face the truth. How does a bounty hunter do his job without a ship? Does he use public transportation? Probably not. But getting to the point, this modified Firespray-class patrol ship is Jango's ultimate tool for getting in, out, and collecting his bounty. Any 3 3/4 inch scale figure fits in the cockpit, and there is seating for two more directly behind the pilot's seat. The ship has a retractable missile launcher that can be hidden by a small door, with a four missile capacity and room for four more (also included) to clip on to the back. At the tip of the "nose" of the ship (where the guns are), there is a hole in the back where sonic charges (A.K.A "bombs"*) can be dropped with the push of a button. Another cool feature is the rotating panel where there are decals depicting a tracking device planted by Obi-Wan on one side and the smokin' hole left by Jango when he blew the tracking device away on the other side. What I'm trying to say is this: If you're willing to drop [some money] this is a must-have for all fans of the Fett legacy. I originally feared that it would be a rehash of the previous two versions, but it indeed was not. One feature that I wish they had is an opening cargo bay door. Ah, well, nothing's perfect. I must admit, though, this comes pretty darn close.*Note: bombs do not actually explode.

This is good! I was surprized about all the hidden featres. One surprize was that the orange blast things that attach to Jango's guns/jetpack can be stuck to Slave 1 's guns (although not included.) So far there have not been any problems. Everything it says it does works. And it's so fun to make bombing runs. Hasbro really pulled all of its tricks in creating this fantastic toy. It is so detailed and it's just fun to fly it! If I get the money I'm gonna get the Jedi Starfighter as well. Now wouldn't that be fun...P.S Is this toy educational? Of coarse not! It's a great toy but, hello? Unless your like me and could find a way to learn from the best movie ever, don't donate one to your school. Buy two instead.

Slave 1 is a great toy. First off, it is very durable. The stabilizer fins are very tight and DON'T break off unless you yank really hard. The cockpit can hold up to three action figures and has great detail once you put the stickers on The detail on the outside is incredible along with the laser cannons (which roatate 360 degrees)The hidden missiles are good and fire far and rapidly (depending on how fast you turn the knob on the back of the ship.) Sonic charges are great, hidden behind the cannons (Don't worry, it doesn't affect the cannons in any way, shape, or form.) Finally, the plastic handle on the back of the ship is nice and clear; that way, it doesn't affect the realism and helps your little ones make it fly in pretend flight. P.S. I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU BUY IT but you don't have to take my opinion.

Now you can have the galaxy's most feared bounty hunter, Jango Fett's ship. This toy is great it comes with 8 missles, and 4 sonic charges. The stickers are a little hard to put on and plus you need to buy the action figure seperate from the ship. But the good thing is Slave 1 can fit 3 action figures. All in all I love having this in my STAR WARS Collection.

I was planning on getting the jedi star fighter but when I saw the slave 1 that was as good as mine. When and opened it up it was alot bigger than the orginal.I gave it 4 stars for education because it takes a smaller kid a while to figure it out. For fun I gave 5 stars because it is fun target practicing on my other star wars figures(31).Durability is very good concidering how many times I droped it.I like that it is able to hold 3 figures instead of 1. Not to mention that where Boba is supposed to go, there is a little bit of a boost so you can see him. Over all this is a great toy for children and adults.

So i got this yesterday, and I was BLOWN AWAY by its size! This thing is Gigantic! It has a nice little clear handle for flying it, not to mention the missiles! YEE-HA! Tons of fun shooting them. It has 4 Depth CHarges too, so you can bomb other craft. This ship is very durable, I gave it a "test flight" (threw it) and it bounced off the wall. When I checked it, it wasn't even shaken up!!! This toy will give your would-be bounty hunters years and years of pleasure to come

I bought this at Christmas along with Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter, and here it is now May and my son is still playing with it. It is great for races and playing deep space chases.Of course, the wings have come off, and been misplaced and the sonic charges and phaser fire are also missing, but those are not necessary for races and chases. The detail on this ship is really good and it looks really neat. One heads up to parents, you will be fixing the hatch lid over and over, until it gets lost like ours did. But, it is easy to fix. I would recommend this toy to any young Star Wars fan, it has given my boys hours and hours of fun. Jenny Bogue |
