Woohoo!,

This review is from: Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure (Toy)
Nobody has mentioned the coolest thing about this figure! The lightsaber! Not only does the lightsaber have a metal hilt (handle) that interacts with the magnet in Obi-Wan's hand, but it has a detachable beam/blade, so you can pose him with his saber activated or 'sheathed'! It's just too darn cool. The heft of the metal, the detailed paint job... I never realized how much we were missing out with a crummy silver paint job on all of the saber handles that came before. I just can't seem to put the lightsaber down! The other accessory is an "assassin droid" (or something) with a large hunk of metal on its side that attracts Obi-Wan's hand magnet so he can hang on for the ride seen in Attack of the Clones. The idea of being able to hang Obi-Wan Kenobi from a robot with magnets doesn't seem impressive at all, but I have just as much trouble putting the droid (with Kenobi dangling) down as I do with the lightsaber! I don't usually play with my toys anymore, but I can't help but sit holding my assassin droid with Obi-Wan hanging on for dear life while I watch TV or what have you. I guess you could say it's an action feature with a strange sort of magnetism (ooch!). And the sculpt, well gee. I was never big on the whole "dynamic pose" thing, but Obi-Wan looks like he's about to take off running on his own, and it just looks great. I don't see much of Ewan McGregor in the head sculpt (honestly he resembles artists' renditions of Jesus Christ more than anyone else), but that doesn't detract from the toy. Obi-Wan is Obi-Wan, even if he does look like the great Christian deity. I just can't praise this toy enough. Until you hold the thing in your hands, fool around with the metal saber, try and swing Kenobi free from the droid... you just can't understand how neat it is. Just buy it, young or old.

Bares little resemblance to Ewan McGregor.,

This review is from: Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure (Toy)
Obi-Wan is my favorite character of the Prequels so I was excited to get my hands on the new action figure featuring the likeness of Ewan McGregor with the manly mature Jedi Beard. Unfortunately, there is very little resemblance here to Ewan's Kenobi. For one, the hair is too light and not as reddish-brown as Ewan's. The pose is not as articulated as it needs to be. The right arm has no elbow joint so you cannot pose him with the lightsaber using both hands. The magnet in the palm of his right hand is cool for summoning the metallic hilt of his saber by way of the "Force" but his hand cannot "grasp" the saber as a result. Obviously this was designed to magnetically attach to the included ASN-121 Assasin Droid accessory to recreate the scenes of flying high above the streets of Coruscant. Some additional points of articulation at the elbows and knees would have been a considerable improvement. This is a figure that could use some customizing off the bat to give it more authenticity. I am looking forward to the Geonosis Pilot Obi-Wan with the cloth robe and telepathic navigation headband and macrobinoculars that, from first glance, looks to be much more like our beloved Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) is figure # 03 in Collection 1 from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

REALLY COOL TOY!!!,

This review is from: Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure (Toy)
This is one of the best Star War's Toys I've gotten. The Assasin Droid looks just like the one in the movie, and there's a spoon type thing you can put into it and hold it. Obi-Wan Kenobi looks just fine and he's got a cool position, but his head looks like Jesus, but I don't care (he reminds me of Jesus). He's got a magnetic hand (which you can put it on the side of the AD but he's too heavy and he'll fall). I like using his magnetic hand like he's using the force or holding his saber in a cool way. The lightsaber is the best. I've gotten some action figures that have the cheap silver paint, but this one is REAL METAL. The LS is very realistic. Then it has the cool blue plastic laser part of the saber that's cool too. I can't go anywhere without my little pal. A must buy.
