This review is from: Star Wars: Episode 2 > Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) Action Figure (Toy)
Nobody has mentioned the coolest thing about this figure! The lightsaber! Not only does the lightsaber have a metal hilt (handle) that interacts with the magnet in Obi-Wan's hand, but it has a detachable beam/blade, so you can pose him with his saber activated or 'sheathed'! It's just too darn cool. The heft of the metal, the detailed paint job... I never realized how much we were missing out with a crummy silver paint job on all of the saber handles that came before. I just can't seem to put the lightsaber down! The other accessory is an "assassin droid" (or something) with a large hunk of metal on its side that attracts Obi-Wan's hand magnet so he can hang on for the ride seen in Attack of the Clones. The idea of being able to hang Obi-Wan Kenobi from a robot with magnets doesn't seem impressive at all, but I have just as much trouble putting the droid (with Kenobi dangling) down as I do with the lightsaber! I don't usually play with my toys anymore, but I can't help but sit holding my assassin droid with Obi-Wan hanging on for dear life while I watch TV or what have you. I guess you could say it's an action feature with a strange sort of magnetism (ooch!). And the sculpt, well gee. I was never big on the whole "dynamic pose" thing, but Obi-Wan looks like he's about to take off running on his own, and it just looks great. I don't see much of Ewan McGregor in the head sculpt (honestly he resembles artists' renditions of Jesus Christ more than anyone else), but that doesn't detract from the toy. Obi-Wan is Obi-Wan, even if he does look like the great Christian deity. I just can't praise this toy enough. Until you hold the thing in your hands, fool around with the metal saber, try and swing Kenobi free from the droid... you just can't understand how neat it is. Just buy it, young or old.

Bares little resemblance to Ewan McGregor.,

Obi-Wan is my favorite character of the Prequels so I was excited to get my hands on the new action figure featuring the likeness of Ewan McGregor with the manly mature Jedi Beard. Unfortunately, there is very little resemblance here to Ewan's Kenobi. For one, the hair is too light and not as reddish-brown as Ewan's. The pose is not as articulated as it needs to be. The right arm has no elbow joint so you cannot pose him with the lightsaber using both hands. The magnet in the palm of his right hand is cool for summoning the metallic hilt of his saber by way of the "Force" but his hand cannot "grasp" the saber as a result. Obviously this was designed to magnetically attach to the included ASN-121 Assasin Droid accessory to recreate the scenes of flying high above the streets of Coruscant. Some additional points of articulation at the elbows and knees would have been a considerable improvement. This is a figure that could use some customizing off the bat to give it more authenticity. I am looking forward to the Geonosis Pilot Obi-Wan with the cloth robe and telepathic navigation headband and macrobinoculars that, from first glance, looks to be much more like our beloved Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase) is figure # 03 in Collection 1 from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

This is one of the best Star War's Toys I've gotten. The Assasin Droid looks just like the one in the movie, and there's a spoon type thing you can put into it and hold it. Obi-Wan Kenobi looks just fine and he's got a cool position, but his head looks like Jesus, but I don't care (he reminds me of Jesus). He's got a magnetic hand (which you can put it on the side of the AD but he's too heavy and he'll fall). I like using his magnetic hand like he's using the force or holding his saber in a cool way. The lightsaber is the best. I've gotten some action figures that have the cheap silver paint, but this one is REAL METAL. The LS is very realistic. Then it has the cool blue plastic laser part of the saber that's cool too. I can't go anywhere without my little pal. A must buy.

The lightsaber was sweet, and the magnet was great. The assassin droid that came with him was too heavy for his magnet. Be careful with his light saber because the blue part comes off, and if you're not careful, you will lose it. He fights with his light saber real good. I've had a good time playing with it. I can't wait to collect more Episode II figures.

Simply put my favirote star wars toy is this. My only complaint is that the blue blade that you you can take off the handle doesn't stay in well enough. But everything else is good. 3 words, "THIS TOY ROCKS!" its a five letter words-w-e-e-t. Really awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

This toy is pretty cool, but has a few defectrs to it. Such as he is shorter than other figures like Anikan, or Dooku, only taller then Boba Fett of Yoda. Plue, the magnet in his hand does not hang on to the droid very well, so if you try to stand him p with the droid in his hand, he will probably fall over, and the droid hangs lopsided. Also, his right hand looks goofy holding the lightsaber, like he's magically floating it in the air. Plus the lightsaber blade falls out of its handle eaisly, andhis hair is too blonde, needs to be more reddish-ginger colored. And his expression makes it look like he got shot in the foot. All in all, a fairly decent toy, but I'd eccomend you instead buy either Jango Fett Kamino Escape or final Battle, Count dooku, and Anakin Skywalker Hangar Duel.

This Obi-Wan Kenobi figure goes to show you how far Hasbro have progressed from Episode I figures. I looked at my Naboo Obi-Wan the other day and could not believe the difference in how far they have come. Episode II Obi-Wan's head is magnificent, looking just like Ewan McGregor. However, I do not like the magnets. Obi-Wan looks like he has a tumor growing out of his hand, plus it disfigures his fingers. And the lightsaber has no detail except for a black bar. Plus when you put it in his left hand, it slips down- there is no grip to it. As for the assassin droid, it would've mad a good accessory just by itself, but the darned thing will not stay up with the magnet. Articulation is OK. The hips, waist, shoulders, neck, and left elbow. I guess this is the grown up Star Wars collectors review, not the one for kids who like the magnets and stuff.

Finally, "Attack of the Clones" action figures. how long have we waited for these? a while. I managed to snag four off the shelf the day they were released: Jango Fett, a Clone Trooper, Anakin Skywalker, and of course, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan is a great figure. He has a "Force" magnet on his right palm so you can attach lightsabers and the little droid that comes along with the figure to his hand. It is durable, and it can stand up on its own. The only complaint I have about this figure, even if it sounds dumb, is that the figure is surprisingly small. It's smaller than most Star Wars action figures I've ever seen, besides the micro-machines. It is only roughly 3 inches, most Star Wars basic action figures are 4 inches. Whatever, that complaint may sound stupid. But otherwise, this toy is cool and fun. Please buy.

While looking for cool Star Wars action figures, I found this pair. It looked really good (especially the droid), so, of course, I bought it. It's okay, but the problem is that Obi-wan's arms and legs are not jointed at the knees, elbows,or at the bases of the legs. All you can move is his head, his waist, and his shoulders. The droid is cool. I would get a different Obi-wan, unless you really like the droid.

This toy is really cool. The droid that comes with it has a magnet attached to it so Obi-Wan can hold on to it because he has a magnet attached to him too. Why I like it is because the magnet works really good. Once I put the Anakin Skywalker (Tatoonie attack) and him in front of Obi-Wan's metal lightsaber and Obi-Wan got it. And the Obi-Wan is the only Star Wars guy that can hang on good to the droid, out of all them that we have. Another cool thing about it is the lightsaber blade comes off. If only it had a magnet on its belt, then it would my favorite. But it still is one of my favorites. The part in the movie is cool too.
