I Would like to say thank you to all the customers who bought the Phantom Menace sountdtrack who demamded more from it. Well all of our dreams MIGHT come true. According to one of John Williams web page. Sony will release a double CD release of the Phantom Menace on November 7,2000 . It will be over two hours long. As for this CD the music is awsome. BUT DO NOT BUY THIS CD FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. WAIT FOR THE SECOND RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 7.

John Williams works his musical magic again, in George Lucas' newest film, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Adults and children alike have come to love the thrilling music of Star Wars, as only John Williams can write it. They know when they hear the powerful notes of the opening title, they're in for a wonderful movie filled with spectacular music.
Williams has a knack for composing music that expresses the emotion of the movie that no set of dialogue ever could. The orchestration is pleasing to both the untrained ear and spectacular to the musical ear. This CD is a must buy for any music fan. I especially recommend it to all Star Wars fans.

If you are looking for a Soundtrack that shows off all of John Williams' sheer genius then this is a must buy! Every single Track on this album is just simply amazing. Duel of the Fates is quite possibly one of John Williams' most well known and loved pieces of all time (and rightly deserved!), along with beautiful tracks such as Anakin's Theme, and exciting action tracks as well. This score demonstrates all of John Williams' talents put all together! Quite Simply, if you want to buy a score that shows the overwhelmingly intricate and beautiful musical genius that is John Williams, then buy this!!

NO! NO! NO! NO! This isn't the Phantom Menace soundtrack!! Calling this the soundtrack to Episode I is like calling the movie trailer the Original Motion Picture. If this CD is anything it's a Concert Suite representing the much larger original symphonic score. While awaiting the release of this album, starwars and music fans read about how John Williams had composed more music(I think it was like 2 hours and 30 minutes of music) for this film than he had for any of its predecessors. And then they release this little Demo!! Maybe I'm just spoiled after purchasing all the special edition soundtracks which include the scores of the original trilogy in their entirety with bonus tracks of music not used in the films. I can't help but think that they planned it this way just to get us all to buy this weak recording so they could turn around and release the whole thing just to make more money. Anyway, about the music itself, this recording isn't bad if you think of it as a suite and not the full work. This CD is more like the highlights of the actual composition, and thus it is good music. In regard to the music itself John Williams has written another great musical drama that still retains the qualities of the old scores while at the same time it stretches out to new territory. And even the new themes and motivs retain that same 19th century romantic star wars sound. The music on this CD is very enjoyable and makes a passionate and exilerating listening experience, though it's definitely lacking in completeness.

Yeah the Starwars-phantom menace sound track is coming and will bee called THE ULTIMATE EDITION this set is going to bee relased in NOVEMBER-14-2000 with 60 tracks OVER 120 minutes of music and a special edition of DUEL OF THE FATES are including in this set. so bee PATIEN and go to chek in www.sonyclassical.com and click in john wiliams ok I hope this sound track will bee one similar than the special edition trilogy so DON'T BUY THE SINGLE ONE and wait a tree weeks for this clomplete version and may the force bee with you¡

The music on this CD is just beautiful! Just listening to it will take you to everyone's favorite galaxy "far, far away." Includes soaring melodies like "Anakin's Theme" along with powerful selections like, "Duel of the Fates."

However, I was a bit disappointed with this CD. Following the excellent releases of the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition soundtracks, this is a big let-down. First of all, not all the music is present. (While watching the movie I noticed a few selections they decided to leave out.) Plus, it doesn't follow the layout of the movie like the Special Editions did.

All in all, a great collection, essential for the Star Wars fan, and anyone else who loves great music.

If the original Star Wars soundtracks were superb, this is just as good, if not better. John Williams does a wonderful job of combining emotions with action to enhance the storyline of the movie. The use of character themes gives all the movies the "silent picture" effect and also deepens the feelings of the entire film.

Duel of the Fates is incredible, and I never tire of hearing it, along with the rest of the disc. My only complaint is the layout of the disc, which does not go along with the sequence of events in the movie. I'm hoping that eventually a full-length, two-disc soundtrack for The Phantom Menace will be produced. When that happens, I will be very happy indeed.

This album is by far the best Star Wars album yet! John Williams again makes the magic of Star Wars come alive with superior and enchanting music. This is definetly a CD you have to buy!
