4.0 out of 5 stars Very cool
There are tons of different Darth Maul figures out there. Some are a complete waste of money (POTJ Final Duel), but this one is worth picking up. The sculpt, red highlights, and articulation are worth it alone, but it's the metal saber that makes this figure. Maul's knee-cuts allow him to pose for battle or kneel in front of his master. Ultraprime99 here,

Okay what is wrong with the Hasbro company why do we need another stupid darth maul figure...ooooo...I know...

So we can put magnets in his hands and give him a little metal lightsaber that should fly to his hand when you wave the figures hand over the metal rod and, and we could make a new color scheme on him and, and make him bow to his master or...

The head is one of the best Maul sculpts yet -except that Hasbro forgot to paint his teeth. His open mouth is completely black. The action feature's not that bad, but seems a tad uneccessary. The arm can be spun at the shoulder and wrist -it seems that one of these actions would have been sufficient enough. Two makes his right arm detract from the figure: it's straight. Maul cannot hold his hilt with both hands. You can fake it by having him hold the very ends of the hilt in each hand, but it doesn't look all that great. The metal hilt is nicely detailed, as are the blades, but they seem a tad short. The Sith probe droid is okay, but uneccessary. A Darth Sidious hologram would have worked better, and looks great on display in front of the kneeling Maul (you can find the hologram with either the Count Dooku or Lott Dodd figures). Overall, this one's a keeper.

Hasbro has made so many different version of Darth Maul that i was hesitant to purchase this at first, but after seeing him in a store and looking closer i saw that he is one of the best versions yet. Great detailing on the head and lightsabre, he also has great articulation. i'm not too fond of the extra red accents, but that's minor complaint. It looks good sitting next to Ct Dooku, and Bespin Vader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting Mauled..., October 24, 2002

Ok, like most I was skeptical about ANOTHER Darth Maul figure coming out but when the figure actually arrived it was a different story. The new scupt is very detailed and really great. His pose is a little funny and doesn't lend itself to much articulation but that's more than made up for by his moving arm, which both raises and lowers, as well as spins the light sabre. Major drawback -> Hasbro has relied on the magnet to hold the light sabre in place and I don't think this is enough. A tighter grip of his hand might have done more than the magnet to keep him from fliging the light sabre. All in all, a cool toy and the drawbacks are fairly minor.

If your a collector you should really buy this item and many more such as the new upcomings Watoo Mos Espa Junk dealer, Lott Dod Neimaidian Senetor, or Tusken raider with Massif, or but not least Ephant Man Jabbas head of security. I liked star wars since i was about 6 years old im 15 now and have almost every toy you can think of and this is a great one for collectors everywhere.

Peace and good toy hunting!

Keep the toy dealer down!

Kids... big and small... Don't ever buy from the on-line toy dealer scum except for Amazon: better prices and cheaper shipping cost!
