Star Wars FX Lightsaber - OBI-WAN EPISODE 1

+This is much thinner than the other Force FX sabers out there. Much closer to 1:1 than in the past
+Almost as balanced as the vetted Second run Luke ROTJ saber.
+ takes 3AAA batteries as opposed to AA's, which make it much lighter.
+ blade and sound effects are basically the same as the Luke ANE released right before the end of MR's run of these.

-Sounds cut out when moving the saber around. Seems to be due to the battery pack not making complete contact with the pins in the battery compartment. Able to fix this with some craft foam placed between the pommel and the battery pack.
-the metal used in this handle feels much thinner, and a bit flimsier. This may be the trade off between weight / thickness.
-sucks down batteries like they're nothing
- the lip between the ribbed part of the handle and the smooth part of the wrap around it is a bit sharp. If there are any of you trick-loving collectors out there, beware!

This is an awesome lightsaber. The saber feels more "realistic" since it is not as thick as some of the other FX lightsaber. I enjoy holding this more than the rest.

Amazing look and feel. I have two other sabers like this and enjoy all of them.

It is not as durable as I would have liked to see. The cheaper priced light sabers are just as durable if not more so, and more fun because you don't worry about the price that you had paid. Plus, the cheaper priced light sabers appear to be able to take more abuse, maybe because they are more geared for the rough and tumble play of children. But I do enjoy the realistic aspects of the light sabers and having it on display. It has much value as a conversation piece with fellow Star Wars fans and gets much use when they visit.

The first two had burned-out light bulbs in the "blade" and the third (which we are just boxing up to return) has deep scratches up the blade and the tip does not work properly. This appears to be a very delicate "toy" and easily damaged, either in transit or before shipment. We're not sure if we'll try a 4th time...it's getting a bit ridiculous.

I bought this as a present for my boyfriend who is a huge Star Wars fan. Even though I have not given it to him yet, I know that he will love it. It arrived quickly to my house, and I loved the SuperSaver shipping that was offered for it.

this lightsaber is not only cool it is also fun. I think any kid would love to have it.

If you already own a fx saber there won't be much difference from the ones you have then this one here. It is a great looking saber first of all, but they probably could have made a saber of someone they haven't yet AND THEN make this one, iono my opinion.

anyway! the detail and design are great as usual and the hilt is pretty light and so great for fast movements if you duel with them.

Another good thing is the battery pack has a little case over it that covers about 3/4ths of the battery, it is held down with a small screw. at first i found this annoying, but i realized it was to keep the batteries from popping out.

the batteries pop out? somewhat yes. if you duel with these sabers sometimes the impact with push the batteries out of the place their in, but not out so far that they stop giving power to the saber. why does that matter? because the battery will prevent the battery pack from coming out when you try to replace the battery or etc.

Also if you're wondering master replica and hasbro sabers are the same in quality, made by the same company. it's just the brand name that's different. so if you wanna dish out [...]for an obi wan episode 3 saber that's a M.R. then pay the ([...]) for the hasbro one... well that's up to you.
