5.0 out of 5 stars Best Game Yet for the DS
Too many people are comparing the DS version to the Xbox 360 or PS3 version. You can't do that and be unbiased. There is no way the game can be rendered or played the same way on the DS as it is on the stationary console systems. I own it for both DS and 360 and it's a great game for both. But I think as far as DS games goes it really shines. Beautifully rendered graphics...

If you're a DS buff like myself and enjoy portable games more than console games this is a must own for your favorite pocket pal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but certainly not the worst, August 6, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
I've been the market for a while for a awsome star wars game, I have seen lethal alliance; to kidish there is no challenge to it. Lego starwars was fun, but for a true star wars fan such as myself, it's non canonical therefore its not the one I'd be looking for.
Jedi alliance had a good storyline. But I'll let everyone out of the dark: Asoka is not real! Anikan had no apprentice (exept for starkiller of course) also nightsisters usualy have energy swords, which are lightsaber proof but defenately not lightsabers. Plus I don't believe nightsister's where powerfull enough to do such a thing to coruscant. So that one is not perfect either.
Of course it would take to long to discuss every star wars game for the d.s but those are the most popular.

For you non star wars gamers who just want some star wars authenticity just by this one for starters. It's the only star wars game that really stays in the ground rules (that I have played anyway) here on amazon you can buy it for only twenty dollars. Everywhere else is thirty five dollars so buy it here. Secondly it has great combos you can do to your enemy's for example you can push them into the sky and land on their friend's, or throw them into a ball of lightling. Plus the enemy's (yes even the stormtroopers) are hard to take down unless you do a really powerful attack on them. There are more than one bosses in each level and they come when you least expect it.
You can unlock costumes such as sith stalker armor or jedi adventurer robes. Your ship the rouge shadow has a nava computer, which enables you to find interesting facts about the planet your about to land on. I your journey you start out with the red lightsaber crystal and you must search for the rest and believe me they are not easy to find.
Now all this time I have only shown you the pro's now its time for the con's. The bosses are not too hard and the graphics are not all that good. But that's all, so I hope this review will be helpful to all who read it.

p.s May the force be with you always.

5.0 out of 5 stars Use The Force my appentace!!!, February 22, 2010

I saw A steal on this game on amazon.com so i bought it ,i was impressed by what i saw. I began the game as darth vader on a misson on the wookie planet: to kill the remaining Jedi. after a deul between the Unnamed jedi and vader the jedi suffers his fate.when vader saves his son the young boy becomes the apprentace of vader. the game follows the story of the boy till his end. there is a good storyline to this game along with a twist at the end. the grapics of the game are good for the ds about that of Iron man or guitair hero. the gameplay is good with ever changeing combonation moves you unlock and new enimys in every level this game is a top in my collection. i would not reccomend this game for young kids because of the gameplay it sis all touch screen and it is hard to master.the T rateing is not needed the violence is not very intence you mainly fight aliens and plant creatures, the only people you fight is the storm troopers and lets be honest the needed to be beat up and taught a lesson! this game is a top buy may the force be with you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be the Sith!, January 29, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
Ever want to be Darth Vader? Use the Force to throw Stormtroopers? Now you can! Star Wars: The Force Unleashed lets you play as a Dark Jedi and you kill anyone and anything in your way. I haven't had this much fun with a Star Wars game since Dark Forces.

I think some of the other reviewers are right in that the game controls are awkward - particularly those bloody camera angles. I did take a star down for that. However, I haven't found it too difficult so far. It just takes a bit of getting used to. I spent some time in the training room first. In fact, overall, I really think the game makes good use of the Wii controls. There are a lot of force moves (my favorite so far is simply throwing objects at people.

However, I don't think the criticism about it being too easy is justified. I think the point of an easier game is to let casual gamers play as well. The game does have different levels, so if Padawan is too easy, you can try Sith Lord difficulty.

For the price, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a good deal of fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly Disappointing, but at least it's clean, January 2, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
This is...the Nintendo DS version of a game released a bunch of different video game systems. I can't speak for the other versions, but this one is lame. The graphics are subpar, the camera angle is often annoying, the main soundtrack consists of a single, short, endlessly looping track, and the game itself it quite short. I'm not very good at action games, and this game only took me several hours to finish completely. The game is an action/fighting game, and basically consists of advancing through long halls, with no branching paths or room to explore, defeating enemies. It's boring. For the fun factor, this game is not worth money. That said, I don't recall anything I found particularly objectionable about the game from a moral angle. It's still not worth getting, though.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, October 12, 2008
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
The eagerly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a flawed game to be sure, but it delivered a majority of the goods that Star Wars fans had been hoping for when it hit home consoles. The DS version of Force Unleashed however doesn't retain too much of the console version's feelings of freedom, and the game feels very linear and even somewhat sloppilly designed. The DS version retains the spectacular story found in the console versions, as you play as Darth Vader's apprentice Starkiller and trek across the galaxy. The implemention of the Force powers here are nicely done on the surface, but they're too limited in their usage. This shouldn't be too much of a problem though in getting through the game, considering that it's incredibly easy and quite short to boot. From a technical standpoint the game fails to fully take advantage of what the DS can do, with some blurry and fuzzy graphics and disappointing sound design as well. Still though, there is a little bit of fun to be had with Force Unleashed on the DS, but for the most part, the game is only worth playing for die-hard Star Wars fans looking for a quick, portable excursion.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun to play--but too short, February 3, 2011
By
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
I enjoyed this game because it follows the same plot line as the Wii version. The only problem is it was much too short and not very challenging at all. I finished it in under 5 hours, which I guess is ok for a hand held but I was expecting a little bit more. If you love Star Wars--you will enjoy this game but be prepared to be let down by the quick resolution.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good game but bad design, June 13, 2010
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Video Game)
I bought this game for my ds because I liked the ps2 version that I have. The graphics are fine for a ds game, but my only real complaint is the way the force powers are controlled. It fails to capture the same feel as the other versions because of it. You have to use the stylus to do the different moves and to do anything impressive you have to try to drag one attack into the other to get them to combine for a special move. I personally played this game twice before I traded it in for something else. You are also restricted about following an exact path, you can't deviate from it or you will not get anywhere. Over all I would say the game might entertain someone you or that had never played another version of this game first.
