This review is from: Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection #19 Cloud Car Pilot Action Figure (Toy)
Most of the Original Trilogy Collection figures are old re-issues, but the Cloud Car Pilot is a brand new figure. The figure fits readily into the old Cloud Car vehicle, and sports an excellent color or paint scheme. This is a fine action figure; too bad this series of figures is so hard to find at retail stores.

This review is from: Star Wars Original Trilogy Collection #19 Cloud Car Pilot Action Figure (Toy)
There are two versions of the cloud car pilot. This is the better looking one for a variety of reasons, but not very good for some other reasons.
The overall sculpting and outfit design and painting is far better than the other cloud car pilot. The face, costume and helmet are nicely sculpted and better than the other cloud car pilot. It comes with a gun and a comms device in its hand. It also has a holster (very nicely sculpted) that is not attached to the leg, so it remains vertical when you try to sit it down. It is very inconvenient if you plan to make it sit down inside a cloud car. Whoever designed the action figure never thought it should fit inside the ship. So as an overall product, I like this action figure very much, except for the holster problem and I still prefer this one over the other cloud car pilot. I got to have the other cloud car pilot before my eyes in a store and the face sculpting was not very nice, and it looks horrible. The moustache of the other cloud car pilot did not appeal to me either. I am very pleased with this action figure. The only problem I see in it is the holster. But a holster problem is not enough reason to go for the other poorly sculpted version of cloud car pilot with a moustache. On a side note, I may want to comment on the horrible habit of Star Wars designers that are adding moustache to soldier action figures. An eccentric Moustache is something that could fit if you are Salvador Dali, or a 19th century general, or an 18th century rich man, or a soldier from India, or an eccentric british WWI pilot. However, action figure's moustach is not stylish and eccentric, but ordinary, which gives the impression of a soldier that does not shave. In my opinion, a moustache not only is not decorative in this case as it is inappropriate for the context of a soldier or pilot, but also it is not movie accurate, so it reduces the value of the action figure as collectible. Face detail: Excellent Overall Body detail: Excellent Fabric clothes: n/a Accesories: Gun and walkie talkie Movie accuracy: Excellent Issues: Removable holster prevents to sit correctly. With holster removed legs are shorter than seat. Benchmarking: Better than the other cloud car pilot. Poseability Shoulder articulation: Standard Elbow articulation: No Hip articulation: Standard Knees articulation: No Feet articulation: No Notice I use this nomenclature for articulations. No: It has no articulation. Standard: Rotates around a single axis. Provides limited poseability. Ball: Provides the best poseability.

This isn't the most exciting figure on its own, but it goes great with the new Cloud Car. I actually like this one better than the new Vintage Cloud Car pilot. The gun-strap is removable, so it's a lot easier to sit him down. Also, the paint job and articulation are pretty darn good for 2004. The only complaint is that the elbows have no joints.
