Product Description

Editorial Review

Get a double shot of the dark side with this combination set of Star Wars' two most notorious villains: Darth Vader from the original film and Darth Maul from Episode I, The Phantom Menace. Each figure stands a foot tall and sports battle-scarred detail reminiscent of their final lightsaber duels: Darth Vader's right hand and helmet are removable, and Darth Maul can be taken apart at the waist. Each comes with his own lightsaber, including two for Darth Maul. The figures have removable boots and are fully posable, articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees, and waist. Facial sculpts and costume details are accurate: Darth Vader's scarred head and worn face appear in sharp contrast to the overall menace of his all-black outfit and cape, while Darth Maul's fearsome scowl is accentuated by his red face, horned head, and all-black garb. --Larry White

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome toy!!, April 29, 2001

This review is from: Star Wars Power of the Jedi 12" Action Figure - Sith Lords - Darth Vader & Darth Maul 2-Figure Set (Toy)
If I had to pick the best all-time 12" two pack, without a doubt I would choose this two pack. The Darth Maul is very cool, but not my favorite. The head sculpt is a bit sub-par, first of all since the neck is too long. The expression on his face is perfect. The horns are too short, though. He looks tramatized, well, you would be too if you were falling down an endless hole with your body severed. The break in half feature is awsome. It is about time the big H did this. The saber split is alright, but the saber doesn't hold together too well. As forthe Darth Vader, I was more than pleased with it. I got an electronic Vader/ Obi wan two pack at Kb recently. I was very dissapointed with the migit Vader that had a cheap cape and a tiny head. I could not find the 14" electronic Vader, so I found an alternative. The head may look oversized, but it is actually near perfect. The dome is just too long in the back. Otherwize, It is 100% perfect! the outfit, features, and sculpt are totally cool. Thin figure is also interesting because it still has the battery compartment and speaker of the electronic version. In conclusion, buy it, or you will never forgive yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Maul Bad Vader, March 20, 2001

This review is from: Star Wars Power of the Jedi 12" Action Figure - Sith Lords - Darth Vader & Darth Maul 2-Figure Set (Toy)
The Darth Maul in this set is absolutely spectacular, his likeness is perfect and he splits in half! His Saber also splits into two pieces, but the best thing of all, Maul actually has a clip on his belt to hold his saber! Also the grin on his face looks great! The grin is a lot more realistic than the 12" Darth Maul on Speeder.

The Vader on the other hand is pretty much the old electronic removable helmet Darth Vader, but with a chain on his neck, and a removable hand. Also his paint job seems to be poor because he has less detail than the other Vader on the head.

If you are a Maul fan I recommend this pack just to get him because he is really one great figure!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great sculpting, bad features, March 29, 2001
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Star Wars Power of the Jedi 12" Action Figure - Sith Lords - Darth Vader & Darth Maul 2-Figure Set (Toy)
This is a pretty decent figure two-pack if you don't have any of the previous 12" Vader or Maul figures. The Darth Vader figure looks excellent in the box (Kudos for face-sculpting; the likeness is dead-on) but once you take it out, you'll notice the vinyl clothes are too restrictive for joint movement (not very much poseability) and the helmet is too big. I think Hasbro could have spent a little more time tweaking the dimensions on the helmet (he rather looks like Dark Helmet from Space Balls). The Darth Maul looks great (face-sculpting, poseability) and is an absolute step-up from their previous figure (I love the grin) but do we really need the morbid, break-in-half feature? I can almost hear the poor Maul screaming "Help me, help me!! Thou hath cleft me entwain!!"
