Interactive movie games are nothing new. But this product's full studio production values set it apart from lesser interactive adventures that come out of the typical Hollywood-Silicon Valley convergence.
Passwords and user-defined skill levels ensure that all players can enjoy Rebel Assault II at a comfortable flying and combat level. Hard-core gamers who like the 3-D action of Dark Forces may scoff at the game's limited options. Likewise, veteran joystick jockeys will laugh at the fake flying, which follows a predetermined line and doesn't provide the kind of control you get in Origin's Wing Commander series.
Rebel Assault II's fine musical score, well-written script, and decent acting will be enough to satisfy those seeking a worthwhile multimedia "experience," but the limited gameplay will most likely send hard-core gamers running back to Tie Fighter. --Peter Scisco

Rebel Assault 2 is short, but fun while it lasts,

This review is from: Star Wars: Rebel Assault 2 (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Rebel Assault 2, the sequel to the extreamly popular origianal is here, so how does it fair up? Overall it fares up really well, but its ultimatly too short. Rebel Assault 2's plot is really interesting, with Rookie one trying to stop the Evil Empire from unleashing a wave of phantom ships that can attack and destroy at will without being spotted. This is of course very bad and throughout your travels to stop this menace, you will fly through asteroid fields, zoom on a speeder bike through a forest, go on a really big star destroyer and infiltrate a secret base. The graphics are very good, although they are a little rough here and there. The full motion sequences are extreamly good, with fine voice acting. The music is also very good. My favorite part is all the hidden easter eggs hidden in the game, which include a willie coyote spoof, dancing stormtroopers and a hillarious Mystery science theater 3000 mode. However this game is too short, on easy mode, if you skip all the movies, you can beat it in less then 10 minutes. But its still a good game. The good: Great plot, music, varitey, and graphics, hilarious easter eggs The bad: Too short, gets really hard on difficulty levels, graphics can be choopy And the ugly: Bad ending

Two Classic Games together,

The two Rebel Assault games are just classics. Rebel Assault II is much better than the first (being a sequal), with all the hidden scenes, alternate endings, and other interesting things. There are cheats that you can find on the internet that i have never used but can come in handy. Most of the scenes are funny, and they form a story line in which you have to fight Darth Vader again. Some of the characters are copied directly from the Star Wars Movies.I absolutely loved the Star Wars Movies (all four of them so far) and this game reflects their great genius. As Rookie One, you must stop the Imperial Menace, marked mainly by a new phantom space ship, able to turn invisible at will. There is so much to this game, and the graphics are ok. Rebel Assault I is just a classic. With good graphics and sound for the time that it was built, it makes a good game to play in your spare time.
