The Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT) Gunship used by the Republic is an extremely versatile craft designed for rapid, near-to-ground transport of up to 30 clone troopers into battle. Lighter and faster than the mobile artillery, the gunship carries an impressive arsenal of weapons systems designed for both air-to-air combat and air-to-ground support and had a rear hangar that could hold up to 4 speeder bikes. The 3 rotating anti-personnel turrets at the nose and tail help clear a safe path for ground troops.

This is a nice snap-tite model kit that is a very quick and easy build and looks nice when it is done. The door gunpods are solid - unlike the see-through pods in the movie, but other than that a good looking model. The rear ramp/door opens and the side doors open. The guns are a little thin and subject to breaking if not treated gingerly. Likewise the side doors can hang-up. The model can rest on its hull or mounted to a flight stand.

If you use the model for miniatures gaming, it is ideal for 20mm or 25mm and a on the smallish size for the WOTC 30mm miniatures (but the best available model). It is definitely a better scale fit than the OOP Action Fleet Gunship or the Transformer Gunships for this purpose. I plan to pick up several more.

Thus the Clone Wars begin.

This Is a Model NOT a toy! BUT it can still be used as a toy. I hate putting it togeter, it sucks (putting together) but other then that it's okay and is very nice and has alot of detail.
