A key character in the Star Wars prequel, and arguably one of the most terrifying movie villains ever, Darth Sidious (a.k.a. Chancellor Palpatine, or the Emperor) is well represented in this fantastic, foot-tall action figure. Here, he’s cloaked in dark, flowing, hooded robe fitted with a triangular, silver-colored medallion in the center. The hood opens to reveal the Sith Lord’s rubbery face and slick, sinister smile; it’s truly ghoulish. Comically, underneath it all, the old man’s built like Arnold Schwarzenegger, with a rippling torso perhaps borrowed from a G.I. Joe. The action figure enjoys full movement; all the joints twist cleanly, and even Sidious’s fingers move to close around the handle of his sleek, red lightsaber (included). --Andy Boynton

At last, with Revenge of the Sith, Emperor Palpatine gets his proper respects! As a fan of Emperor Palpatine going back to the Original Trilogy, the pickings have always been slim for me. The Phantom Menace introduced Palpatine to us again as "Darth Sidious", and we got a new figure. However, with ROTS, we've got plenty to choose from!

This 12" figure of Palpatine/Sidious is done very well, the facial expression is done well, and the cloak is great. There is plenty of room to make the hood baggy, as Palpatine wears it as Sidious. My main complaint about this figure is the fact that he falls fairly often (Even after repositioning the legs properly), and the lightsaber. My complaint about the saber, however, is more due to the fact that I dislike that he will use one in the movie, more than the toy itself. Lucas, why did you cheapen Palpatine by making him have to get his hands dirty? That was part of this character's mystique!

Overall, a 4-star figure.

This is a detailed, highly poseable 12" Figure of Darth Sideous/Emperor Palpatine. I like the fact that the hood is removable, and the hands feature the same cool articulation as the AOTC 12" Count Dooku figure from 2002. This is as least as good as that one, and that was an excellent figure! It's also a great likeness of the evil Sith Lord. Keeping this figure in the package doesn't do it justice. I've got mine posed on my computer desk just like the photo on the box---hunched over, lightsaber in hand, preparing to strike with dark force lightning!!! When his hood is partially obscuring his face, and all you can see are his yellow eyes and demonic smile,this figure is truly a phantom menace...

I, uh, sorta, kinda, maybe, make Sidious an idiot. Heh heh heh... But anyway, hes fun. If you want the most evil person to play with, heres the toy for ya. Its a little annoying how one hand is in the same position, but who cares. Unfortunetly, I cant make an honest reiview, 'cause of the fact I make him stupid. *sweats* Have fun with him!
