5.0 out of 5 stars Great Landspeeder!!, October 23, 2002

This review is from: Star Wars: Luke Skywalker and Landspeeder with mobile "hovering" effect (Toy)
Hasbro has done a great job with this one. The sculpt and paint job are extremely close to the movie prop. It has retractable wheels that are clear to give it a better hover look. Included is a Luke Skywalker with elbow joints to better hold his weapon. The vehicle looses a few points since there is no way to seat any droids in the back and I have had a bit of trouble fitting Luke in the drivers seat. Overall it's a great piece for any Star Wars collection. Get yours today!

5.0 out of 5 stars AT LONG-LAST THE LANDSPEEDER, September 26, 2002

Finally! After a quarter-of-a-century, the definitive landspeeder replica is here! Quantum leaps beyond the appalling Kenner Toys offering, Hasbro has done an outstanding job and has really captured the essence of the vehicle: sleek, low profile flanks; incredible graphics and weathering; correctly contoured windscreen; detailed cockpit with steering control; and a retractable "hover effects" undercarriage. On top of this, it comes in a diorama style package that really makes it a dilemma whether to open the box or not. I bought two speeders as a solution to this crisis. Also included is a weathered Luke Skywalker figure with long-range rifle. IT IS AN IMPERATIVE FOR ANY STAR WARS FAN TO GET THIS TOY!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Luke's Landspeeder Version 2.0, June 30, 2003

This is a great representation of Luke Skywalker's personal Sorosuub x-34 Landspeeder from Star Wars IV: A New Hope. It is vastly improved over the version released 7 or 8 years ago in terms of authenticity and scale. There is a gear shift that turns on and off a hovering effect via springs that lower wheels from the bottom of the vehicle. It even includes a Luke with 'desert dusty dirty' look and well-articulated neck, plus he has his hunting rifle which can attach to the landspeeder. It is worth it for the Star Wars freakazoids, but kids might like it too, as my 10 yr old cousin wanted severely to wreck it into other toys due to the fact that it can roll very well. That is all.

My 6 year old son loves Luke's Landspeeder. It has wheels on the bottom that he can roll and Luke comes out too. He said it looks exactly like Luke's Lanspeeder in the movie. He plays with it everyday.

I just received my Landspeeder in the mail today, and I greatly enjoy it. A VERY big improvement over the 1995 version. It is actually to correct scale, and MUCH more detailed than the previous one, AND it comes with a Luke Skywalker figure that has a rifle that attaches to the side of the speeder. As great as the toy is, I have to list a few cons:

The toy is a Toys R Us Exclusive. A veicle this good should be sold everywhere, plus it makes it much harder for collectors to obtain.

It's kinda hard to get the Luke figure to sit properly in his seat, and if you leave him in there for a long time, the plastic peice that hangs below his waist and over his legs will permanently get stuck in a forward position.

I could not get Luke to stand at all! I ended up standing him between the speeder, and one of it's engines just so he wouldn't fall over. I'll have to give him a stand when I get one....

5.0 out of 5 stars They got it right!, November 4, 2003

This review is from: Star Wars: Luke Skywalker and Landspeeder with mobile "hovering" effect (Toy)
This is a GREAT toy for any Star Wars fan. The original 1977 'Speeder suffered from being too short, so they could fit more on shelves, just like the original X-Wing, and even the relrease of the Landspeeder in 1998 or so. Didn't notice it at the time, but it really stuck in my nose. Now they've made a perfect version, so perfect I wish I were 3.5 inches tall so I could play in it. It's that good!

This is the ultimate in detail for the Landspeeder vehicle! It has a great deal of movie accuracy and is a lot better than the Power of the Force version. The toy has a great hover-like feature that makes it look real. The Luke figure is also great with a lot of articulation! You won't regret the purchase for a gift or for a personal collection.

I have found that the landspeeder is a great toy and easily better then the version that came out a few years ago. However, I do not understand the reason for the retracting wheels because landspeeders remain hovering at all times, even when parked. While the Luke figure is an added bonus, it takes some effort to take him in and out of the speeder.
