"Spaceships" is fun for the youngest of Star Wars readers. The format is the most remarkable aspect of the title; this is a board book. The odds are with this book that it could survive a direct assault by a Star Destroyer. So there's little chance that the hands of a four year old will do any harm to the cardboard pages. As the title indicates, the book is a tour of the galaxy's most memorable star ships. There's the Star Destroyer, Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, X-Wing, B-Wing and the Grand Poobah of them all, the Death Star. In a day when most Star Wars books cover the entire saga, "Spaceships" is loyal to the original trilogy. Each of the six spreads show a featured ship and a sentence. Additionally, onomatopoeic sounds provide a written soundtrack. Perfect for youngsters, the pages are done in such a way that there are two textures. Each illustration is a blending of the regular page surface along with an area that's smooth and shiny. These dual textures invite touching. All in all, youngling readers will enjoy blasting off with "Spaceships."

All the Scholastic Star Wars board books are phenomenal. They are quite sturdy so when a kid tries to chew on it they really need to work at it to break down a page. No easy rips and tears here. If your kid can tear this you should test them for blood doping and enter them in the nearest Strongest Kid on the Planet competition.

The illustrations are awesome - bright and colorful, much like my language when I go to a Red Sox/Yankees game.

I can't say enough how great these books are, they've done a great job on the entire Star Wars board book series, either because they are kids at heart like myself or because they can fully understand a 2 year old when they talk and consulted a focus group of them when designing these.

Although this book is written on an elementary reading level, it has many great pictures directly from the movies. I am happy I bought it simply because it is a Star Wars book.

Our family loves Star Wars, so it's only natural for us to introduce our little girl to the ways of the force as early as possible, and this board book is the perfect way to start. It features several ships from the Star Wars galaxy and a noise that they may make. It’s an amusing book to read and fitting for even the youngest Jedis. The force is strong with this one!

Nice board book for the Star Wars fan. High quality but a little too short as you can read it in less than 5 minutes.

We are hoping our daughter grows up to be a Star Wars nerd like her daddy so she had to have this book! She already had the "Heroes" book and we wanted to expand her collection. We really enjoy reading this to her and explaining the Star Wars stories to her. She truly seems to enjoy looking at the pictures and always pulls these books out of her little book tote to look at.

My daughter loves this book. It's an every night read for her. Not much detail to it but perfect for her age. We have all most all of them. For a star wars child these are a must have.
