A nice little model, after you get over the sticker shock. (That's just what plastic model kits cost nowadays.)
While the model is well built and pretty much snaps together as advertised, glue here and there is strongly recommended to keep it from falling apart during vigorous play. And my 9-year-old needed a little help with some of the smallest pieces. If you're not intending to play with it, as a plastic model it's also reasonably well put together with good detail. A light wash of thinned black paint will really help all the scribed panels and lines stand out.

As with all of these snap-together models, patience and attention are demanded. The "wings" have a tendency to fall off if you handle it, but I am still glad to have built it and add it to my growing collection.

The molds do not fit correctly. The color is off on most of the model. It is very small only 3-4 inchs across. I was hoping that this would be similar to one of the old style models I had as a kid but it is far inferior. For 10 bucks its not awefull for a kids first model but if you are looking for something with good detail and that will look good on display stay away. Its also snap and and prepainted in case you missed it in the description.

Impressive for a low-price pre-painted model.,

When I opened the package, I was amazed by the complexity of the interior parts. Most low-price models provide, at best, a vague human-like lump in the inside. I uploaded a couple pictures of the inside to show how much better this model is.
This model has a pilot in full uniform, which you might actually recognize as a TIE Fighter pilot if you found it loose somewhere. The pilot sits in a detailed seat with arm-rest controls. In front of the pilot is some kind of control yoke. The walls on all sides have a few details to make them something other than flat plastic. The entire inside of the cockpit is also painted a gray color so it isn't the same as the plastic on the outside of the fighter. A few smaller areas, like the armrest buttons and the belt buckle, are painted as well. The biggest disappointment is that all of this is barely visible in the end. Too bad the TIE fighter had such poor visibility. I hate to ask for more from such a cheap model, but an alternative front window with only the frame (and no clear part) would have been nice to offer better visibility. However, the top hatch is removable (though the tabs might break after too many cycles). It is also annoying that there is no display stand included. I can throw something together easily, but usually even cheap models include something. The outside of the model pretty much looks like the photo on the package. Not bad. They left most of it as bare plastic for efficiency (except the black solar panels and gun tips), but even the bare plastic has plenty of detail. Revell also used a very slightly blue-shaded color, which I think is accurate as per various Star Wars comics. This is one of the cheapest models available, especially for an official Star Wars model, and overall it looks pretty good.

Certainly not life size... but detailed and does the trick,

The most important detail here is to understand this is not a full-size model. It's probably only 4-5 inches long. It's detailed, and fun to assemble, just don't expect it to be that big!

This model kit is highly detailed and fun to build, as I have found Revell Star Wars models to be. It required some glue to keep the wings from being too easily removed. But my biggest problem with this model is that the wonderfully detailed cockpit and pilot are BARELY visible when the TIE Interceptor is completed. Even the cockpit floor is molded with a tiny grating texture, but is totally lost. I guess it's just for extra fun while building. Overall, I highly recommend this kit to any Star Wars enthusiast.

I did purchase this not knowing it was a model. When I did realize that it was a model, I was a little excited, since I haven't put a model together in many years. I followed the instructions, which said "No glue needed", but was not able to get any of the parts to "Snap" into place. They would slide into place, and then slide back out when I tried snapping the next piece in place. I tried this over 20 times and finally got tired of trying to get the pieces to fit. I am ready to throw it away.
