For this Darth Vader, I didn't really know what to expect. But once you open it, it is extremely detailed and articulate. It's helmet comes apart in three pieces but they're a little loose so I just super glued all of them on his head. He is such a pimp when you put armed clone troopers behind him on both sides. I love D.V. and even if you're thinking of buying him you should although his price has gone up quite a bit since I bought him even a week ago. Get him!

A Darth Vader for true collectors,

Warning: This is not the Darth Vader you should get for your 5-year old son. Rather, this is the Darth Vader you should get for yourself. This Vader is eerily realistic and incredibly detailed for a 3' 3/4-inch figure. The cloth cape and leg coverings flow very nicely. Moreover, this is the FIRST time the helmet comes off in three pieces. The top part comes off first and separates from the face mask. You can then pull the head off to take the breathing device off (not sure why you'd want to do that, but it's actually cool to try). The head is also a very well done likeness of Sebastian Shaw. However, as I indicated above, this is not a toy for kids. In fact, it seems Hasbro didn't bother trying to make it durable. First, the helmet doesn't clip on and will fall off if you move him much. More upsetting is that Vader's right hand isn't closed enough to grasp the lightsaber. It's actually pretty easy to have him hold it with both hands (left on the bottom, right on top), but it would have been nice to have had more options for posing. Also, you might want to glue down the silver neck chain because it doesn't stay down. Overall, this is a great figure - for collectors, not kids.

Very posable. I bought it to practice photography lighting.PROs: Detailed with a cape made out of some polyester fabric. Cons: The helmet comes off way to easy and it is made out of two pieces.

This figure is nothing like the vintage Darth Vader sold back in 1980. Please see the Dominator's review for an accurate and complete description. I am giving this a one star because the admittedly cool helmet merely rests on Darth Vader's head and easily falls off. This was a gift for my 4 year old and if he is VERY careful and holds Darth upright the helmet will stay on. Any actual playing causes the helmet to fall off. It is also ridiculous that his right hand won't hold the lightsaber. I am going to have to pay close attention the next time we watch Darth to see if he is in fact left handed. Overall, it is cool if you simply want to collect it. I actually considered gluing the helmet on (*gasp*) but instead will suggest he play with the Power of the Force figure instead. This would be a great toy if the helmet stayed on.
