I actually like spiders. They offer invaluable services to those who like to garden. When I find them in the house, I have no problem picking them up or letting them crawl onto me and then releasing them outside. But when they feed off me in the middle of the night - causing painful bite welts that last for several weeks - then they have to go. That's how I got to Spider Away. It's purportedly non-toxic and designed to repel spiders rather than cause them to suffer a miserable death. The first thing I did is take apart the bedroom, and everything in it, and then painstakingly vacuum everything and everywhere. I paid particular attention to where the walls meet the ceiling, and also, possible hideouts within the furniture. I found two spiders hiding in the recesses of the bed, and unfortunately for them, they were executed on the spot. Death was humanely administered by way of vacuum cleaner. Someone had to pay the price for those bites. I then sprayed the product all around the bedroom and in every location where they might gain entry. I sprayed where the walls meet the ceiling -- which is where many of them like to hang out and lay their eggs -- as well as at floor level and any place where they might hide. It's only been a month, but there's no evidence of any new spiders. It's December right now, which is not exactly spider season around here. Next August or September, I'll try to provide an update as to how the product did through the summer.
My biggest complaint (so far) is that before purchasing the product, I wrote the company and asked them what substance they were using as a repellent. I wanted to know that before buying. They never responded. They also don't provide that information at their website. So for concealing that information from prospective buyers, they get three stars instead of something higher. For those of you who are wondering what they're using, it's peppermint oil. That's the only active ingredient listed on the bottle. It's 97.5% inert ingredients, and 2.5% peppermint oil. So if you have some peppermint oil lying around, you might be able to get by with that. One concern I had is that after using the product, the bedroom would reek of peppermint. So I used it very sparingly at first. As it turns out, it's pretty much odorless. It has a very slight scent of peppermint when first sprayed. Moments later, I couldn't smell anything at all. So that hasn't been a problem.

Was doubtful, had an outside building front that we just couldn't keep up with them sweeping etc. Sprayed this stuff heavily last summer could not have gotten better results given the natural setting, Buying more just to maintain through the spring and summer now.

To be fair, we tried using this product on our sailboat that is kept in a marina filled with spiders. However, it did absolutely nothing, didn't even seem to slow them down. I don't know how it would work indoors but outdoors it is totally ineffective.
