I bought this for a new tent that I purchased(from amazon of course) and am happy with how it went on. Rather than buying some of the small-volumed and overpriced specialty tent waterproofers out there, I decided to save some money(and end up with some left over) and tried this. It has strong, volatile-smelling odors, so don't try using this indoors. You don't want to inhale any of this nasty stuff...From my understanding of how most water-proofers work, If the waterproofing molecules come in contact with your lung tissue, they will actually expand and prevent O2-CO2 diffusion and you could suffocate. I wore nitrile gloves as I sprayed it on the tent and then rubbed it into the material. After a day it was completely dry and there were no detectable odors. I did some water splash-spray tests and the water was beading off beautifully. I'm hopping the PTFE will help reduce dirt staining as well. - We'll see.

Amazing water repellent,

I purchased this for two jackets I typically wear riding - one is a canvas type cloth, and the other is thin cotton. I should note that neither of these jackets are motorcycle jackets, so they weren't water resistant at all - a lot of people buy water repellent to renew the waterproofing that many textile (gore-tex, and so on) jackets have to begin with. I coated the thin cotton jacket completely last night (do this outdoors!) but ran out of product for the other one - my fault, I got a little carried away on the first jacket. I checked to see how well it worked by pouring some water on the cotton jacket, and it just beaded off!!
My husband and I ride in all sorts of weather (hail is painful) and I've been in a downpour more times than any sane woman should admit coming or going to work, and have always arrived looking like an angry wet cat. I will be ordering another bottle (if not two) to finish treating the second jacket and some other gear we have. Bonus - the spray did not affect the look or feel of the fabric.

Intended use was to waterproof horse blankets. I waterproofed the same blankets last year with a different product and all went well. Washed and dried blankets, then applied this product following all the directions. It seemed to be OK since water beaded up on the surface. But the first week out with the blankets on and I have cold wet horses, had to pull the blankets and put on lighter sheets that had been waterproofed LAST year with the old product. The rain went all the way through and it wasn't even a heavy rain.
