5.0 out of 5 stars CNC-worthy
I bought this to add to a laptop to drive a CNC controller using Mach3. You're not supposed to use a laptop, and add-on parallel ports are questionable too. But so far I have my micro mill under computer control using the StarTech card. It does really appear to be the closest thing to a "real" parallel port. 1.0 out of 5 stars Can't rate the card since I can't install it.
I tried to install the card when I received it, but the installer was unable to find the installation executable. Since I haven't had time to Google the message, the card is currently not in use.

I can't recommend a product that doesn't include the necessary installation files.

I bought this card in order to be able to plug in a hardware dongle (key) on a laptop. It has been working great, no issues.

It's been over a year now and never a hiccup. I both print and scan on an HP Office Jet Pro 1175Cse. I plug and unplug the device for each job. My computer is an IBM/lenovo ThinkPad T60. It simply works!
