The pinouts for the connectors must not be very good. The information for my 22" HP flat panel monitor could not be detected, so it would default my video card to a lesser resolution. I should have returned it but procrastinated again.

Digital only cable,

Amazon Description is not clear, but search of Startech site shows this is a DVI-D cable - in other words, digital only, no analog signal. If that confuses you, check out the wikipedia "Digital Visual Interface" article.
