Works! No latency when converting for Wii...,

This review is from: StarTech.com CPNTA2HDMI Component to HDMI Video Converter with Audio (Electronics)
This is the second product I purchased for converting Wii component outputs to HDMI since my receiver didn't switch component outputs (and I only run 1 HDMI cable from receiver with switch through wall to wall-mounted tv). This one works!!! (compared to my last unit made by Geffen)
My only minor complaint is that the audio input is the "headphone" style jack, not RCA... The component cable you get for the Wii has RCA jacks for audio, so you need to by an RCA to 3.5mm adapter with the unit - seems like Startech could have thrown that in... but those adapters are cheap so I didn't ding the review based on that.

Wii High Def Must,

This review is from: StarTech.com CPNTA2HDMI Component to HDMI Video Converter with Audio (Electronics)
I bought this to use our Wii without having to use an additional cable running to our HD TV. So I coupled this with an HDMI Switchbox and we were able to Use 1 HDMI input to our TV. A nice touch for a wall mounted installation. The only tricky part is configuring the Wii to use the High Def settings before your plug it into the converter. Device is well built although documentation is vague. At the typical cost of this device it wouldn't make much sense for anything other than a specialized use.

Does not work with my Wii,

Bought this converter to hook up my Wii via HDMI rather than composite or component. I have a wall mounted tv, didn't wanna run component cables thru the wall when I've got plenty of HDMI's. Hooked up my Wii via component cables to this converter. Had to buy an RCA to 3.5mm connector in order to hook up the audio. STUPID connection. Have no idea why this product has a 3.5mm connector for audio rather than red and white. STUPID. Well, doesn't really matter since my tv's won't recognize the connection anyway. Says "mode unsupported." This device may work to rig up a cable box but does NOT work to hook up my Wii. Returning it. Sad. :(
