I bought this adapter because the description claims it "converts the signal" and IMPLIES it is active - a requirement for Eyefinity to work. After pouring hours into options and tech sites, it is clear this is not the case. The reviews of the Accell B087B-005B UltraAV DisplayPort to DVI-D Single-Link Active Adapter ATI Certified (Black) show it works with Eyefinity for $30. Spend the extra 5 and get what you need. This website [...] lists the Accell and others but read the reviews before you buy it because at least one "certified dongle" Accell B086B-001B UltraAV DisplayPort/HDMI-A Adapter does not work. Do your homework and you will not be disappointed like me.

This was a great purchase because it was inexpensive, and I couldn't find it in Best Buy or CompUSA. Great product.

I purchased this cable to use on a Dell E6410 machine. By using this cable I am able to utilize the Display Port and VGA port to power two monitors on my laptop. It disables the laptop display and I have two 20" Acer monitors instead. The cable was inexpensive and I have already gotten a tone od use out of it.

Purchased this cable to connect my Dell Adamo 13 notebook to a Dell U2410 monitor. It only works at lower resolutions and will not support the full native 1920x1200 resolution of the monitor. There is also no lock on the display port end of the cable. But otherwise looks to be built well. It may support full resolution for other configurations but definitely not on mine.

Nothing in the specs published on Amazon says this is a passive connector.

Useless for driving >2 monitors with AMD/ATI's Eyefinity.

If this is your objective, i.e. driving >2 monitors with Eyefinity, do not consider this device.

I wasted my money as I have nothing else on which I can use this thing.
