2.0 out of 5 stars Runs hot, short life
I installed this power supply as a replacement from Gateway. From the moment I installed it, it did not cool sufficiently. Within a year it had failed completely.

The product arrived in a timely manner and once installed worked very well. The only problem i encountered was it did not fit precisely into my PC. i have an older SONY VAIO and the screw holes did not match up. i had to drill holes in the pc housing to mate up the holes on the power source. also the cord was in a diferent spot so the back cover doesn't fit back on the PC. If you have an older pc you mayhave the same problem with fit up.. however it was relatively inexpensive and my pc works once again.

I made this purchase to replace a blown power supply from a low ender HP tower (you can use search engines to for reasons why there is no power and a green blinking light on the back of the power supply). Prior to removing the old unit, I took photos of all the connections and any labelling as well as backing up my data.

Installation of the Startech power supply was easy. The screws holes matched up perfectly as well as the fit in the case. Making the few connections from the Startech power supply took a few minutes. There are no labels on the Startech connections like on the HP original so the photos helped. After all the connections were made, the desktop powered right up and is much quieter than the original.

In my opinion, this is a good model for those on a budget.

I took my older pc to Best Buy ( geek squad ) to see if they knew why it would'nt start. After spending $60.00, they told me it was the power supply, the motherboard, a virus, and that i should just buy a new pc. I did a little shopping on Amazon and found this power supply, so i decided to buy it and install it myself. My pc started right up with no virus or motherboard problems to speak of. I guess if i knew it was only a power supply i could of saved the money going to geek squad. The only problem i had was the screw holes in the tower did'nt match up good with the threads in the power supply housing. I was able to use a few, but not all of them. It is very secure, even without using every screw. I read a few reviews prior to buying, and other people mentioned drilling new screw holes in the tower, but that is not necessary. I hope to get a few more years out of this pc now. I give it 4 stars.

HP Pavilion a350n

My old Power supply went bad with a green flashing light, i noticed the fans weren't spinning so obviously it was time for a replacement.

It was pretty much the same exact replica just different brand. Works easy install It fit perfectly.

Now lets just see how long it last

Arrived fast and was as advertised. Only problem was one screw hole didn't line up so I just left it out. Could easily drill the hole in the case one size bigger to fix the problem but didn't really care enough to do it. Other than that the product powered up my sons old computer and is working great so far.

I couldn't get it to work and I had to return it. It looked like some one else had returned it also. I am assuming it didn't work for them either.
