The whole world of CAT5 extenders is new to me so it was with a bit of trepidation that I ordered a number of these CAT5 receivers (with their mating transmitters) for a complete refitting of our church's projection system. Out of the box these Startech units were absolutely flawless. The build quality is excellent - solid metal cases with a pleasing black finish. The video quality is exactly as if you had connected your monitor directly to your PC, providing a completely transparent solution to the problem of deploying a monitor at a distance from the PC. I am 100% satisfied. The only thing I wish is that the cases had provisions for mounting with screws (they're designed for placement on a flat level surface only), but that's a minor affair.

Got these blind, just praying that they'd work correctly. Turns out every Startech component I purchased worked like a charm! Hi-def VGA on every screen in my house, 5 total. Perfect!
