Purchased for the surround sound of my new LCD TV. This cable does exactly what it is supposed to do...transmit optical signals. It provides the highest quality digital signal for audio available for the consumer and THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LOW QUALITY OPTICAL SIGNAL-it either works or it doesn't. Your ears/eyes cannot tell the difference between this 25 dollar toslink and a mon**** toslink for 5 times the price. Oh plus I needed 20ft and you know who, the "monsters" of the cable industry don't even make one. And in fact, there is no difference. Its called marketing and big name companies package their stuff all nice and hit you with this spiel about how you gotta pay big bucks to get the best. Wake up peeps- the reality is that it doesn't make a difference and if your super-human ears could actually hear the difference then you need to be battling villains with the X-Men...not watching TV.

This is the most durable feeling toslink cable I've owned. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the price but what I got far exceeded my expectations. Based on the heavy duty construction, I'd guess the design is intended for an industrial application. Being a digital cable that uses light instead of an electrical signal, performance means either working or not so it would be pointless to say if it 'performed' differently than any other toslink. This is an incredible value. If you need a long run of toslink, you can't go wrong with this one. You'll pay at least twice what this cost for a shorter and more fragile cable at most retail establishments.

This optical link is by far one of the best deals to be found- It's lengthy, inexpensive, sleek & works flawlessly. Highly recommended buy.

Nice looking cable, well constructed, works like it is supposed to. Not many optical cables of this length so it is good to have a good quality choice for a reasonable price. The sound quality is improved from the audio coax that we were using before. Don't forget to take off the little protective caps. They are easy to overlook and the cable will plug part of the way in so you might be fooled into thinking the cable does not fit or apply too much pressure. Neither the optical port nor the HDMI port are particulary robust so I tie-wrapped the two cables together for mutual cable strain relief. A recommended buy.

This is my first experience with Toslink fiberoptic cable - had avoided it due to concerns in the audiophile press about inferior sound quality. Used this cable to connect the large screen LCD TV to a home theatre receiver, and it works very well. Having the TV do the switching of AV sources rather than the reciever (a suggestion from the Best Buy Geek Squad guy) was an excellent idea, and this vastly simplifies the connection to the receiver. There was sufficient flexibility to snake it through the freestanding TV console. The cable seems sturdy and well-made, an excellent buy for the price (you can't find cables of this length in most stores). Strongly recommended!

It's a plug and play and the sound quality couldn't be better. My system is an Onkyo that I hooked up to my projector and I can't complain, neither can my friends and family on movie nights.

I walked the earth looking for a fiber optic cable bigger than 12' & what do you know, I found one & way cheaper than any cable you can find at WorstBuy! Thank god for Amazon.com! Great quaility, perfect length, thanks for providing this item, I'd be lost without it!

I have to change my review here. This cable seems to fit well and work well as well and the build quality is amazing for the price.
If there is someone out there looking to buy a optical cable, this should be top of the list. Spending more on big brands is surely not a smart way to go.

Incredible price/performance. Works flawlessly as advertised. Construction and quality exceeds my expectation for the price paid.

This is the longest Toslink optical cable I've found readily available, and for that, it is amazingly, almost unbelievably economical. It has a very thick, heavy jacket, which should help to protect the optical fiber within. It also has hefty end connectors, and the gold-tone accents on them serve absolutely no useful purpose on an optical cable, but they look do nice and give it an extra air of quality.

I've had this cable for about two years. One end of it hangs off an extra input in back of my home theater receiver, and the other end lives under my couch, where it gets shoved around in the dust and occasionally trodden on, and it performs flawlessly without complaint. This allows me to just sit down with my MacBook Pro laptop anytime, pop in the cable, and instantly listen to anything in my music library (or internet radio etc.) in full digital quality. Isn't technology grand!

This would also be ideal for hooking up the digital sound output of your HDTV back to your stereo or home theater, or any similar application where you need a longer than usual cable.

By the way, for use with the MacBook Pro or other laptop with a similar analog/digital dual-purpose port, you'll want a mini optical adaptor such as this one from RiteAV, or perhaps this one if you prefer a right-angle connector.
