I own two original Starbucks chubby mugs. I actually purchased the very last one on display at the Pike street store in Seattle. The young lady behind the counter was acctually reluctant to ring up the last one.
By accident I found a SECOND chubby mug, about a year after they were discontinued at a scrap metal yard in a pile of stainless steel, in perfect condition!
But behold! Its back!
right here on Amazon, it looks like a clone. However, Migo is made by a company called PMI (Pacific Market International in Seattle). PMI is the company that makes the cups and travel mugs sold in Starbuck stores! Quite possibly the same chubby mug manufactured off of the same patent!
No more spills on your way to work- this model is exactly what you need to free up your hands when driving...Just set the mug on the dashboard and go-the bottom-heavy design keeps the mug in place, especially when it's filled with your favourite drink.
Have owned this mug since 2000, well i am on my second one now...My last one had a tragic death. After riding on my bumper for 5 miles it fell off in traffic and was ran over by an innocent driver who knew not what he was about to destroy...Cause if he'd of owned one he would have pulled over and saved it....Needless to say i had to pay 50 something dollars to replace it...I wish they would make it again,,I have called mygo and suggested it, but for some reason they wont...(guess money is not needed) cause it would be a sure seller...Drink up coffee lovers.
I had this mug in Aug 2000 and lost it in Aug 2003. I was very upset when it had gone missing. I bought several replacement mugs that were stainless steel but none of them ("cut the mustard") were that good. I even started drinking less coffee as a result of losing this mug. I have now placed an order for two of them and I might even get a third one. This is the best mug i have ever had and I am very happy to see it on sale again!! Way to go Amazon!!!!
I purchased my Chubby (one must be careful with that word) in 1997. As of this writing, it is 14 years old and still going strong.
I hope I don't jinx it by writing about it. I'd be heart broken if something happened to it. It appears there is no suitable replacement on the market.
The roundness or slope is just perfect to keeping the beverage contained, hot, and sip-able without spills. There are no dribbles while drinking. There is never a splash-out when toting it around the house, even when filled to the top. The diameter is just right for my medium size hand, sometimes I carry it by grasping the mug itself and not the handle.
Starbucks came out with this little number a few years ago, and it has been my favorite mug (for travel or home use) ever since. First of all, it is unspillable; it's wide base and non-slip foam bottom assure that you won't be wearing your morning coffee after that tight turn or fast stop. Also, it holds a LOT of coffee! If there's one thing that bugs me, it's a travel mug that only holds a few guzzles of beverage and then has to be toted around with you, empty. All-in-all, a fantatic, quality mug that is a steal at $20. Great gift!
I have owned three of these. Took one with me to the was in Afhganistan when I was on active duty. It is my favorite way to drink coffee and truly would just sit on the dash of my truck without moving. I had my bag stolen with the mug in it. Does anyone know where I can get another one??? On eBay, one just sold for $61!!! Please help.
I LOVE this mug! It is my favorite mug to use at the office. Because of it's short and chubby design I never have to worry about it getting knocked over and spilling coffee on the patient's charts on my desk. It also keeps the coffee nice and hot! Please tell me where I can get another one!!!
