NOT DISHWASHER SAFE,
By
This review is from: Starbucks 16 Ounce Clear Acrylic Insulated Tumbler (Grande To-Go Cup) (Kitchen)
I was initially told that the tumbler was dishwasher safe. After a few uses The top wouldn't fit properly on the cup. I took it back to a store to see if this was a common problem and I was told by the barista that the cup was in fact NOT dishwasher safe and that's why I had the problem! Was there any offer to replace it? UM, NO. It was good while it lasted, but if you want it to last any length of time HAND WASH IT!

Starbucks now selling them again,
This review is from: Starbucks 16 Ounce Clear Acrylic Insulated Tumbler (Grande To-Go Cup) (Kitchen)
The cup is great but no one should have to pay $30 for a cup. Starbucks has brought this 16oz cup back for spring so it is no longer a hard to find item warranting the price of $30. You can buy the same cup from starbucks website for $12.

So I randomly came across these in a Starbucks store one day for like 11 or 12 bucks and loved them, but for some unknown reason I didn't buy it that day. From then on, I went to several Starbucks stores and could not find them. I went to Starbucks' website and still could not find them. So I e-mail a Starbucks customer service rep to find out about them and he confirmed that they only released them in limited quantities. This is why scum-bags can get away with selling them for $60-$80. Because people out there are really paying that much for them. I was lucky to find a vendor on Amazon who sold me two of them at $20 each which I STILL thought was outrageous, but I really wanted them. I say don't buy them and wait for the price to drop down to a reasonable amount or even wait for Starbucks to release them again this spring (I'm assuming spring since it's an iced drink). Great product, but crappy marketing by Starbucks. They could be selling these by the thousands...but instead they limit them and let online scumbags make outrageous profits that they could be making themselves. With that said, my home-made iced vanilla lattes have never been better than drinking them out of a signature Starbucks cup.

Great cup But 80 dollars? NO WAY,
This review is from: Starbucks 16 Ounce Clear Acrylic Insulated Tumbler (Grande To-Go Cup) (Kitchen)
I love this cup. My friend had one with the green straw and around Christmas I almost purchased the one with the red and white straw but I didn't because I figured I'd be able to buy it after Christmas for less. I was wrong. The cup is now only available for a ridiculous amount of money. so instead I bought this:
Amazon took away the link, just google "Copco® Cold Beverage To Go Cup - Brown" It should come up for sale from bedbathandbeyond dot com. I use it every day. I'm drinking out of it right now in class. This cup was only 7.99 they had it at the Bed Bath & Beyond by me. It's not insulated like the Starbucks one but I think it is just as good. The Starbucks one wasn't overpriced in stores but now it isn't available in stores and is ridiculously priced online. Also some people don't like Corporate names on goods they reuse, it's like you paid the company to advertise for them. My friend uses her Starbucks one almost every day. I know it's a good cup but just get the one from BedBathandbeyond, it's lighter, holds more (24 ounces total which is actually how much the disposable cups hold 24, to accommodate for the ice [I worked at Starbucks]) I highly recommend the Copco® Cold Beverage To Go Cup - Brown. The price is great, it works great, and it's adorable.

This is a great product but find a vendor that is going to give you a better price than $59.99. I paid $12.99 at a Starbucks retailer and I thought that was somewhat steep. Sixty buck, wow!

I just bought 9 in Calif. for $10.95 (16 oz). Whats up with the big demand with outrageous prices? What a joke.

Gives off taste of plastic,
This review is from: Starbucks 16 Ounce Clear Acrylic Insulated Tumbler (Grande To-Go Cup) (Kitchen)
I really like the cup, the idea, and the fact that I can write my usual drink on the inner wall. That's all great. It says the cup is BPA free. I am not one of those who are religious about 100% eliminating BPA (I touch receipts, I eat caned food..etc.) but what are they replacing this BPA with? Whatever it is, it tastes like I am drinking liquid plastic when I drink water. I cant find any other complaints online about this but I have had a few friends taste the water from my filtered source in a glass, then in this cup. They all agree that it tastes awful. My favorite iced coffee even tastes strange in this cup! I just don't feel safe. Not only do I want to return the cup to Starbucks but I want them to state what they are using in this material, and possibly start using American sourcing for the manufacturing of their products? That would be great. Anyone else have this issue?

LOve this iced tumbler. I'm a big iced coffee drinker, and this makes me feel great about making my own coffee at home! It gives the great feel just like walking out of a coffee shop!

Love mine, super easy to clean, perfect size, keeps my drink cold, aka, works as intended. BUT, They have about 300 of these babies at your local Starbucks--I will guarantee. They're running a special promo to move them out again in summer, free frap with your cup purchase of 12 bucks. You can't even get one of the cutesy white eco cups for that low. Reselling on ebay and amazon is a bit ridiculous, but if you need the cup, you need it, I guess!

Starbucks sells them for less!,

At this moment (I'm not sure how long they will last, as they sell pretty quickly) you can buy these on the Starbucks website. I just purchased mine for $12.95 this morning. My coworker came in last summer with one of these cups and I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, they are only sold for a limited time within seasons. Every time I went into a Starbucks, they never had them. Online? Sold out. So, I randomly got on the Starbucks website this morning and, ta-da, there they were! The Grande is $12.95 and the Venti is $14.95. When Starbucks ends the sale of these cups until the next season, people like to use websites such as Amazon and eBay to sell them for a much higher price. My advice: be patient (like I was) and wait until Starbucks (in stores and online) opens the selling season again. Selling these cups for $20-$60, as I have seen, is just too much!
