5.0 out of 5 stars Best mass produced coffee beverage ever, and now it's gone., August 13, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
I've lost track of the number of times I've enjoyed this particular coffee beverage during the Summer's of 2006 and 2007. To me it's a perfectly balanced beverage in that it really tastes like coffee, iced coffee, and it's just a little sweet. In fact, I purchased a lot more of the "light" version with the powder blue label than this version. The "light" version had almost no sugar, but didn't really taste much less sweet to me than this version.

Well, I can't find this Starbucks Iced Coffee in stores any more or in Starbuck's, and one of their employeed told me it was discontinued. How sad, the only canned or bottled iced coffee beverage that really tasted like iced coffee and not just super sweet sort-of-coffee-flavored chock-full-of-fat-and-sugar goop, which is what most all cold coffee beverages are. So, goodbye to a great and authentic tasting beverage and kudos to the Starbucks people who thought this up and marketed it. It will be missed, at least by me.

And, unlike most other bottled and canned "coffee" beverages, this stuff really had a good caffene kick to it. Truly a great summer productivity beverage. I'll treasure the moments with the few cans I have left.

I cant believe this product is gone. If I had known i would never be able have this again i would not of given my last one to my brother in law! Man I am sad this has been discontinued. It IS the only coffee drink that doesn't taste like crap.

Update: I just found a great coffee that tastes just like this. Caribou Coffee has the same calorie content as this 12 oz can and has the same taste, so we are all saved!

I purchased this to get me over the hump of the discontinuance of this Iced Coffee. I drank it slowly, very slowly. To my shock, I have found it at some Targets and the cans do not have discontinued dates. I bought cases of it from them. So keep looking everyone. I love this coffee over ice on weekends when can relax a few moments. Enjoy the Brew!

5.0 out of 5 stars Starbucks Iced Coffee Recipe, October 17, 2008
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
***UPDATE - I made this today and it's not the Iced Coffee recipe that we've come to know and love. It's much sweeter and milkier. I believe this recipe is more like the bottled Frappucino. So cut the milk and sugar way down on this and you'll have something closer to the canned beverage.***

If you still can't find it, try this recipe and see what you think. You'll sure save a lot of money.

Starbucks Iced Coffee Recipe:

* 2 shots (3 oz.) espresso

* 1/4 cup granulated sugar

* 2 1/2 cups low-fat milk

* 1 Tbls. pectin OR 1 tsp. pectin + 1 tsp. arrowroot

1. Stir sugar into espresso. Cool mixture.

2. Stir milk and pectin into espresso mixture until pectin is dissolved.

3. Fill a glass with ice and either serve mixture over ice. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars IT"S BACKKK, October 16, 2008
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
IT"S FINALLY BACK THE ITALIAN ROAST.

THIS COMPANY GLOBALWORX IS AWESOME. I BOUGHT 10 CASES AND GOT A FREE STARBUCKS ENERGY MOCHA CASE. NEVER TRIED IT BEFORE UNTIL I GOT THE FREE CASE. ITS INCREDIBLE. FORGET ABOUT MONSTER AND RED BULL.

I CAN'T FIND THE ITALIAN ROAST ANYWHERE IN THE STORES AND THEY DISCONTINUED THE ITALIAN ROAST LIGHT.

BUT THIS COMPANY ALWAYS HAS IT STOCKED UP.

TRY A STARBUCKS ITALIAN ROAST WITH VODKA. THATS A KICK IN IT SELF.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible--and incredibly sad it's so hard to find., September 7, 2008
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
I prefer the light version of this, but this coffee is incredible. For those times I can't actually get to Starbucks for an iced doubleshot on ice--which is more often than I'd like--this is perfect. I was sad to see them discontinued from my local stores--until recently, when I saw the new Starbucks energy drink.

The older version sold here tastes better, and was available at reduced calories (half sugar, half Splenda), but to the new version's credit, there is more coffee (15 oz), and it has Ginseng and Guarana. It is also thicker, making ice a necessity to slightly water it down. If I could get the old reduced calorie version in the larger 15 oz form, I'd be in hog heaven.

Also, for reference, I just saw and tried Rockstar's new coffee energy drink, and it actually is very good, and is also available in reduced calorie form as well, in coffee and vanilla flavors.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best canned coffee ever., August 31, 2008
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
I am so glad that you can still get this. I have been enjoying this for almost three years now. It is the perfect boost in the middle of the day or when you are on the go. It's just strong enough to get that boost without the letdown that you get in Monster and other energy drinks. I can't find this anywhere in Southern California, where I live. I called Starbucks and they said it wasn't discontinued but my local market says it can't order it anymore. In any case, if you have any left, enjoy them. I have one dented can left and I am saving it for a special occasion. I might buy a case or two here and save them for the weekends or special occasions. If this is really discontinued, then Starbucks has lost the $500 per year I spent on this great stuff!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very sad to hear this too!, August 15, 2008
This review is from: Starbucks Iced Coffee, Italian Roast, 11 Oz. / 12PK (Health and Beauty)
Thanks to the previous writer for clarifying that the delicious Starbuck's Iced Coffee has been discontinued. I am so sad to hear this. I too really enjoy this beverage (I like the regular version best, the LIGHT has an aftertaste in my opinion, and I normally drink diet beverages). I have been looking at all my usual places that I used to purchase the Iced Coffee and also have been asking at my local Starbucks, but have not gotten confirmation to my suspicion that it was taken off the market. It was starting to make me crazy! I really can't understand why they would discontinue this as I agree with all that the previous writer says! Don't bother buying any other pre-made iced coffee products out there. I have tried them and they are watery and do not taste good. I will cherish the last can of Starbuck's Iced Coffee I have in my frig! Not sure I can justify spending $30 + $12 S/H to purchase 12, but it's a possibility!
