Timeless fairy tale,
By D Weiss (Plantation, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stardust Signed Copy (Hardcover)
Today, in an age where novels are written according to recipe --must be "x" amount of pages, story must resolve itself by "y", characters must be "z", where so many authors on the "list" follow a predictable pattern, Neil Gaiman continues to break the mold. The secret to Stardust is that my son and I can read it and talk forever about its lessons. The story is captivating, harking back to classics I read as a young boy, yet the novel holds lessons for the adult -- myself included. It captivates the mind, it sends the spirit soaring, and, at least for me, it gives one reason to pick up a book and expect the unexpected. I will order more copies for my friends to read with their teens and pre-teens. I cannot get this smile off my face.Thank you to Neil Gaiman. |
