5.0 out of 5 stars Very fast paced and easy to read, this book is full of romance, nostalgia, action, danger, crime-drama and more!

Don't let the age and small size of this book fool you! Barbara Bretton packs a lot of punch into these 248 pages, and although there are a lot of 1980's references scattered throughout, they certainly don't drag the story down.

Don't let the age and small size of this book fool you! Barbara Bretton packs a lot of punch into these 248 pages, and although there are a lot of 1980's references scattered throughout, they certainly don't drag the story down.

When her rock icon husband is tragically killed in a race car accident, Sara Chance's life seems to belong to his fans as they hound her very intrusively in an attempt to keep his memory alive. After two years of mourning and isolating herself, with only the three people who maintain her husband's estate as her friends and confidentes, Sara desperately tries to recapture her privacy and regain control of her own life. However, the fans and the paparazzi are relentless, and it's not clear whether or not her so-called friends are on her side or are against her.

When former boyfriend Sam Berenger reenters her life, she is struck by the realization of how very lonely she's been for old lifestyle and her one true love. Yearning for the life she could have had with him, away from the public eye where she can feel safe and just be herself, they must face dangerous forces and unknown threats to Sara's life before they can be together again.

Barbara Bretton's characterizations are very well-drawn, and her dialogue is very naturally and believably written. This is a very brilliant oldie but goodie!!!

Sara Chance was a jet-setter. As the wealthy widow of the beloved Maxwell Chance, she led a glamorous, opulent life. Yet Sara was miserable. All the money in the world couldn't make up for her not being able to appear in public unrecognized. But then Sam Berenger came into her life.

He seemed to be the perfect man, but then strange things began to happen. Pages of Max's personal journal were missing. His coveted Grammy award was gone. And then Sara's diamond engagement ring disappeared. As the danger mounted, Sara turned to Sam, only to find out how badly she'd been deceived!
