This pan is really non-stick. It works better than conventional non-stick pans. I've been using it for a couple of months and I love it. When my friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, her doctor told her to stop using non-stick cookware. What does that tell you? Nonetheless I still use non-stick occasionally (to fry eggs, etc.) because I find it impossible to do completely without it in my kitchen. So this pan is a welcome alternative. It's made well, very sound construction.

Shorter Lifespan than Anticipated,

I've owned this pan for just over 2 yrs. Like other reviews mention, it began as the "wonder pan" and food just slid off the surface. Now, things are sticking. The bottom of the pan is no longer 'shiny' looking, but has a matte finish. We've always hand-washed and hung up this pan, so it's never been abused. Only wood/plastic utensils, etc. There is only one *tiny* chip on the rim, where the coating is gone, but the coating has been completely removed from the rivets holding on the handle just from everyday washing.
A shame, as I became fond of it after about a month's use. I like the long, cool-touch bamboo handle. The pan is also easy to handle, and a useful size. I was a bit dismayed at first by the light weight -- but this pan was purchased to replace a commercial-weight Meyer teflon pan; it's certainly not commercial weight, and this took some getting used to. I would've really liked this pan to maintain it's "slick" non-stick surface for longer than 2 yrs. The Meyer teflon is about 15 yrs old. I guess it would be a qualified recommendation.

Was easy and delightful to use at first, but it reached the point where the food could never get cleaned off the bottom of the pan. It became so unbelievably hard to clean. To the point that cooking with it turned to real treachery and time consuming drudgery. It supposedly has a three year warranty. I am going to see if the company lives up to its word. I see various famous health advocates advertising the pan and selling it, but it falls way short of the praise. It is difficult to use considering the sticking problems, contrary to its selling points. This makes me wonder if the safety of the item is not also highly exaggerated. Now am wondering what to replace it with that is healthy and safe without such inconvenience.

I purchased this, and another of the same brand of ceramic coated pans by starfrit, and I can tell you I just had to come back here to write a review of how useless they are now. I was very impressed at first, but after a few weeks or even days, the pan starts sticking and becomes impossible to clean. It does not last more than a few weeks. I highly do NOT recommend it
