4.0 out of 5 stars Earth vs. Hathor
Stargate Retribution by Bill McCay brings back the action in the series. I loved the first book yet found the second book wanting. But the third book brought back both the action, the swiftly moving plot and the characters with all their flaws and conflicts. Earth must now prepare for the attack by Hathor and the Boat of a Million Years. Can Jack O'Neil and General...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
This has some of the worst writing I've ever seen in print, with lots of exclamation points so you know when it's exciting. Also, McCay's version of the characters' personalities could be cause for rebellion. Clearly, this series was something thrown out there to cash in on the film's popularity. All the "r" titles are confusing, too.

Can Jack O'Neil and General West explain to the military just WHAT is about to hit the planet? Can Daniel Jackson find homes and jobs for the homless people of Adydos? Can Earth find anything in the past to fight for their future?

5.0 out of 5 stars Make a movie!, September 27, 1997

A very entertaining book! I have read the others, and I liked this one the best of all! The author makes the interactions between the characters come alive! It is easy to visualize what someone like Steven Spielberg could do with the material from this novel! Good job, Bill McCay!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good partial wrapup, June 9, 2002
McCay brings a good conclusion to the first two books in his series, while still leaving a believeability for the next two. Anyone who liked the movie would enjoy these books, note for those of you who watch the series like me, you have to think Kurt Russell to read this. It's enjoyable for anyone, not just the full-fledged stargate/stargate sg-1 junkie. :) Read them all, stargate and the stargate sg-1 books, they will hit the spot!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great conclusion, May 4, 2000

For soft-core sci-fi, this is great stuff. A great ending to a great series. Bill McCay takes the story begun in the movie and brings it to a logical (if yet open-ended) conclusion. Only wish the TV series learned from Bill's great ideas.

I don't know about you but i found the tv show stargate sg-1 to be disappointing because it doesn't feel like stargate and those actors don't give the characters justice like the ones in the movie did. that's whats great about the books, they "feel" like stargate and you can picture the characters the way they were in the movie, they way they're supposed to be.
