Label's Press Release, August 19, 2003

Guidance Recordings is very proud to announce the arrival of Stargazing, a barrier breaking compilation series heralding the unsung heroes of 21st century pop music. The formula is simple: it's all of tomorrow's pop stars served to you on one CD light years before it gets "made for TV". While the artists on Stargazing traverse many genres and styles, their music is held together by a common thread of emotional authenticity that you certainly won't catch on any Clear Channel Station. From the heart-broken croonings of Maximillian Hecker, to the glitchy breaks of Schneider TM to the gorgeous electro-pop of Ladytron, the landscape of Stargazing is beautiful, personal, and quirky. These songs rise high above the recent slough of genre imprisonments, you won't find any "Clash" or "Intelligent Dance" here, but rather just entertaining, clever, and emotional pop songs that gracefully straddle the line between experimentalism and accessibility. A compilation for every dorm room, loft space and make out club!

From what ive heard on Metropolis KCRW (Los Angeles) this album sounds insane. Good hard to find mellow songs. God bless KCRW and Jason Bentley! If anyone knows of a distant equal station/dj PLEASE let me know.
