My daughter is the Star Girl and the journal was a gift to her, one she requested. I didn't read the books "Star Girl" and "Love, Star Girl", but she adores them, and she has great taste. I did, however, flip through the Star Girl Journal when it arrived. I'd expected an interactive type journal like the Juny B. Jones Journal she enjoyed years ago, with questions and answers, but this one was more age appropriate I suppose; more sophisticated. It is a blank page journal, with the exception of having Star Girl quotes on each page. The quotes are charming and reflect good values. I approve, and because she loves it, I love it.

I am not one to review much, but this is truly rediculous. I fully enjoyed the two stargirl books so when I saw this one on the kindle store front I bought it. However, this is not a book, it is simply a collection of blank lined pages with a quote on the top or bottom of each page!! Now this may make great sense to give to someone you want to encourage to keep a journal, but as you can not fill in the pages on your kindle it is a complete rip off in this format!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING AMAZON?!?!?

No offense to Jerry Spinelli as I love everything of his I've read so far, but this one was a big mistake to release on kindle. I'll be demanding my money back from Amazon!

When I first received this book, I thought that it was Stargirl's journal from the series Stargirl (I had not read the product description.) When I realized that it was a real journal, I was thrilled. The quotes (from the series Stargirl) are nice and meaningful, even if you have never read the series before. It is an inviting hard-cover book. The only problem that I found with it is that I don't know what to use it for and the cover is sort of childish (green and white polka-dot trim with a blue background and a picture of a star, then a girl.) Otherwise, it was pretty good.
