There is a god and he likes me,

I'm a huge Cure fan. I'm 16. Translation: I missed everything.Fortunately, however, there are still enough Cure fans around to keep these babies in print. This video is one of the greatest things ever. Not only does it have all the videos from '79-'84 (JOY!!), but it has...(sniffle, sob)...behind the scenes and live footage!!! Oh, rapture!! The live footage is especially magnificent because I know there will most likely never be another Cure tour. So, if you're like me and missed out on all the good stuff, buy this tape NOW! I promise you, you will want to sleep with this video under your pillow at night.

For the hardcore Cure fans, definitely.,

This video definitely gives you a great overlook of The Cure as they have made their trek through the years. I loved the parts inbetween videos, showing the guys in recording studios and the like. Definitely worth the money and time.

Its not only a history of cure music videos, but of music videos in general. Videos were still experimental in the early 80's & I am surprised the Cure pulled it off so well. Its fun to watch the evolution of the band through videos, and thier silly bits of music and footage inbetween.

Mixed Up,
By A Customer
This review is from: Staring at the Sea [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The first half of this video definitely leaves something to be desired. More or less all of the clips up until the ones directed by Tim Pope are rather dull and unimaginative (You can tell that The Cure weren't really all that excited about making videos in the early years). However, the clips from "Japanese Whispers" onward are stunning, and manage to perfectly capture the spirit of the songs.

Lousy music is a disease, here's the Cure!,

This video takes you on a wild ride. You'll get to see the band before they were ever heard off in the U.S. You also get to see how the band transforms from three young and inexperienced rockers to fully made up rock stars. All the while the music never ceases to be the main draw of the Cure. They have a style all their own, but it is still a style that the listener can call their own when talking about ones feelings and emotions. Just give them a chance, you won't be dissapointed. These videos give their following just what they wanted. Enjoy!

A phenomenal blend of sound and images. It gives us more of an insight into the band and gives us a glimpse of their outrageous senses of humour. From the early "Killing an Arab" and eerie "A Forest" to the whimsical "Let's Go to Bed" and beautiful "A Night Like This," you won't be dissapointed.

What's missing from "Greatest Hits",
By
This review is from: Staring at the Sea [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is where you will find the videos for singles which are missing from "Greatest Hits":
Killing an Arab 10:15 Saturday Night Jumping Someone Else's Train Play for Today Primary Other Voices Charlotte Sometimes The Hanging Garden The Caterpillar A Night Like This All of these are excellent in their own right, and illustrate the early evolution of both the band and the format. It's a shame this classic has not yet been released on DVD, as I'd buy it again in a heartbeat: who knows how much longer my 15 yr old tape will keep rolling...

The Best!,

This video along with the cure's standing on a beach;the singles CD are by far the best compilation sets available. For those that have enjoyed the cure during their more than 20 years of performing, this will be enjoyable. The videos start with their earliest stuff, then progress nicely. A best buy!

This review is from: Staring at the Sea [VHS] (VHS Tape)
If you have the album you know what you are buying so my review is not about the item itself but about ANY_BOOK. DO NOT buy it from these guys. They ripped me off selling me some old tape poorly maintained charging me for a new one. I sent them an e-mail last week and I still am wating to hear from them.
