5.0 out of 5 stars Genuine and Original Band, July 17, 2005
This review is from: Starlight Wishlist (Audio CD)
In a world where it seem like every Christian Rock band has decided to sound like Green Day (no offense to Green Day fans), these guys bring an original sound to Christian Rock. Bubble gum and high school lyrics are not found here. Though provoking and sincere lyrics combined with an original sound make this band exceptional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely under-rated band-best of 99, March 11, 2002
This review is from: Starlight Wishlist (Audio CD)
One of my favorites of 2000, don't miss out on this hard rock masterpiece. There is no filler material here, but some of the songs do wear a bit better than others. The mix is awesome-guitar and drums up front with thick bass. These guys are young but you wouldn't know it from the quality of the music. Last I heard they were no longer together.

Check out the first song-it's killer. My personal favorites are 'Choose Me' and the opening track. I'm not sure if I agree with the Creed comparison-for one thing, Glisten writes infinitely more interesting melodic and harmonic progressions. I also like the vocals better. I have heard the vocalist compared to the vocalist for Depeche Mode (!) and that seems relatively accurate. It's nice to hear these clean vocals over thick layers of guitar. Very enjoyable and catchy without being trite-the lyrics are indeed thought-provoking. Being a Christian band of course, these guys never got anywhere near the publicity and exposure of a hundred other bands that were their lessers, much to the chagrin of this music lover. Highly Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars ~a glistening album~, March 27, 2001
This review is from: Starlight Wishlist (Audio CD)
this is one of the most UNDERRATED and OVER looked bands in the Christian music scene. the songs are a hybrid of emo and old school alternative. its a pity that the only fans of this band tend to be local dallas/fort worth natives. all of the songs have God centered lyrics and every track it equally strong from Untainted(true love waits worthy) to Used (the backsliders theme of hope and redemption). this band is truly an original .... it doesn't rip off secular bands like a lot of Cristian bands do today but boast originality that even the secular market has yet to pick up.

First heard Glisten on PowerFM 89.7 in Dallas, and knew I had to have the cd. The powerful lyrics and music are uplifting and well worth the cost (sorry mistercheezit).

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, February 27, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Starlight Wishlist (Audio CD)
Their sound is what I have been looking for in Christian music for months. I've tried the Creed thing and to me, I just can't see how the music relates to Christ or anything for that matter. Anyway, enough of that.

This album has a definate sound of Creed. The voice is a lot higher than Scott Stapp, but it's still an excellent record from start to finish.

If you are looking for a similar sound with a voice that sounds like Scott Stapp, check out Building 429, a Christian band from North Carolina. Not all the songs on their album sound like Creed but some do. The rest sound like an edgy Third Day.

This band deserves more recognition. Finely crafted, clean sounding rock makes for an enjoyable and worthwhile album. Now if I could only afford to buy it.
