Great entertainment!, September 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Starr Report: The Official Report of the Independent Counsel's Investigation of the President (Paperback)
Regardless of one's view of the Clinton situation, the Starr Report is simply entertaining reading. It is not hard to read and there is not too much "legalese." It is better than most novels and it WILL get you involved. Whatever else it may be, the Starr Report is definitely a page-turner!

Based on a True Story, September 14, 1998

This review is from: The Starr Report: The Official Report of the Independent Counsel's Investigation of the President (Paperback)
I expected a dry legal brief, but was pleasantly surprised. Ken Starr's report reads with all the ease and salaciousness of a trashy romance novel. Despite the purient entertainment value, this is an important document that every American voter should read, regardless of whether they consider President Clinton the victim of a "conservative conspiracy," or just a sleaze (or both).

The official beginning of the end, September 19, 1998

Incontrovertible proof for liberals in denial; character DOES matter. They may continue to overlook indiscretions such as perjury while chanting the mantra of "relative morality", but what about sexual harassment in the workplace? I seem to remember the NOW catcalls for the public castration of Justice Thomas and Bob Packwood - where is the Ultra Liberal NOW now? I agree with liberals everywhere - this investigation has cost the American taxpayer too much! The President's stonewalling, legal maneuvering and obfuscation have driven up costs of "getting to the truth" well beyond any reasonable level. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton, as individuals, should bear the majority of these costs.

I am sick of this jargon..Whitewater was not fruitless..it implicated many people in schemes including the ex-gov of Arkansas...Also, Clinton's legal team slowed this thing up which made the price go up..This is about lying to the people of the United States and lying after taking 4 oaths not to...2 for innaguaration and 2 for court..this book shows the lies of the administration according to the investigation...Starr is not guilty of anything...he was called upon by Janet Reno to investigate..and he is independant not Republican!!

This is now your history, fellow Americans, September 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Starr Report: The Official Report of the Independent Counsel's Investigation of the President (Paperback)
This is a difficult account to read, but it must be read. The House of Representatives, _your_ leadership has given this back to you. It is a part of history now. You have very few responsibilities as Americans, but your most important duty is this: you must be informed, and make informed choices when it comes to electing the leaders that represent you. You must learn from this so that our country never has to relive it. Only you can prevent it from happening again. With the barrage of polls and propaganda being put forth by your admittedly biased media, this duty becomes more difficult with each passing day. But if you love this country, if you love the Constitution that made this country possible, or even if you haven't thought about it, and only care about your personal freedom, you must be aware that a corrupt leadership will destroy a civilization. Rome, Greece, and Egypt were thought to be invulnerable. America is at its weakest point in its history right now, for we have lost faith in our leadership, those who speak to the world on our behalf, those who pass laws on our behalf. The polls do not represent you as a human being, nor does any newspaper or television show. Your Congress and your President do this job. And a civilization rests solely upon the strength of its citizens and the choices they make. But please beware... when you read this report, you will realize that all of your friends, co-workers, newspaper editors and journalists, and news reporters have based their opinions solely on months of speculation, propaganda, and other's opinions based on the same. This report contains only truth and facts, the sole nourishment for a mind that wishes to think for itself. The White House has not disputed _one_ fact within this report, and in the past they have not hesitated to refute any accusation that it knows to be false. The White House knows that this report is the truth. Please, arm yourself with truth and history, it is the only way that a free mind can continue to function. This report is truth and now it is part of your American history. Emotions do not determine whether information is truth or not, so set aside emotion and be the logical being that you know you are. Ken Starr has compiled these truths for you and your Congress, and this is an honorable action. You would not attack a journalist for reporting truth. And what are you more upset about: that Bill Clinton corrupted the presidency, or that Ken Starr reported it? Remember that Janet Reno appointed Ken Starr and that a panel of judges was watching him every day. Think about who your anger is truly focused at. Please... I have faith in you, friend. Only you can decide how to live your life... no one can tell you how to think. Find the facts for yourselves, and explore your beliefs.

If you want to read pornography please visit the local sex shop. I find Kenneth Star's behavior more revolting than Clinton's.

When you wish upon a starr....., October 18, 1998

... can a waste of $40 million be all that far! The evidence is in!! And it is not pretty. Under investigation for 6 years ( including the 20 Million dollar Walsh investigation ) Our government has spent 60 Million + investigating a president who brought posterity in peace time, balanced the budget and lowered the welfare roles. And out of it we get this. A tawdry piece of paper concerned with secret tapping and brokered immunities to bring to light a relationship between two consenting adults. Has this country lost it's mind! It is time to cut all of Mr Starr's government credit cards and send him back to the Rutherfurd Institute he slithered from.

Why wasn't this effort spent investigating the TALIBAN?, July 22, 2004
This review is from: The Starr Report: The Official Report of the Independent Counsel's Investigation of the President (Paperback)
40 million dollars. 200 FBI agents. Had the FBI at this point in our history, been able to do their jobs tracking down terrorist cells and putting their ears to the ground, instead of being pushed by enemies of Clinton obsessed with ruining him at all costs (funded by us tax payers) , to waste thousands of person-hours trying to destroy a man and reverse his election, due to a private failing that should have been between Clinton, his God, and his family, perhaps 9-11 would have never happened.
Really, really sad. I'd like to see these people held accountable, the people like Starr who had nothing better to do than to contemplate the sex life of a president.

This is an absolutely disgusting piece of trash, brought to you by the Puritan, Witch-hunter, Neo-McCarthyist Ken Starr. $40 million for this? The GOP ploy worked.. it drew attention away from Campaign Finance Reform and the Tobacco Bill. Thank God millions more can flow into GOP coffers.
