5.0 out of 5 stars Discription might be a little misleading, but...
As you can see from the customer picture attached, you only receive the standard blade. The bevel blade is an "option".
The standard blade is what I wanted when I bought this item and its size is great for making small keepsake boxes and other items on a smaller scale. You can feel the quality as it slides and locks down accurately. Highly recommended!

3.0 out of 5 stars Beware of Amazon advertisement
Like all Starrett products this one is excellent. Unfortunately again Amazon falsely advertises this item as (picture) square with two extra blades BUT the verbage says "Hardened Blade" (no additional blades). Everyday Amazon demonstrates delclining morality.

This tool is one example of "you get what you pay for". The square is very precise and holds it's position securely with no wobble or slipping. the rule is clearly marked for easy measurments and layouts. for small precise work, this square does the job

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could get this surgically attached I would, April 13, 2007
This review is from: Starrett 13C 6-Inch Double Square with Hardened Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
Like the other reviewer said the picture is misleading but that rests on amazon not the Starrett tool company. As the title of the review says if I could I would, I use it that much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great precision instrument, March 15, 2009

This review is from: Starrett 13C 6-Inch Double Square with Hardened Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you are looking at this product, chances are that you already know what the deal is. Yes, it does cost some money but Starrett's are always accurate and built to be used for a lifetime. I don't know what the one reviewer is complaining about, I received exactly what I expected...a Starrett 13C 6 inch double square with a hardened blade.

If you think that you are getting several blades with this instrument, then you really haven't done your homework. There are much cheaper squares out there. If you are a carpenter or cabinet maker, then you can go to Lowes or Walmart and get an adjustable double square for around $10. If you are a woodworker or machinist who wants precision, then you know that you have found a good price on a Starrett.

Like all Starret products, this tool is top quality. I do a lot of woodworking and it is very handy for marking, measuring and squaring my work. I would highly recommend this item to anyone who wants a quality tool designed for precision and accuracy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Notch American tool, December 15, 2008

The tool performs well. The price however is MSRP. Buy it at a retailer and save the S & H.

I use this tool for woodworking. Its a Starrett, it doesn't get any better than that. The operation is silky smooth. It is dead on accurate.
This is a tool you can pass on to your children when you no longer need it.

I purchased this square assuming that it would be a highly crafted, precision instrument, that would feel good in my hands and last a lifetime. What I received was definitely a precisely scaled measuring tool (down to 1/64th!!), no doubt made of materials which would make it a family heirloom, but felt distinctly uncomfortable in my hand because the edges of the square head and rule blade were so sharp that I anticipated eventually cutting myself from casually using it. I thought about taking a fine file and rounding off all of the edges, but that seemed a bit sacrilegious to the precision edges of the measuring blade, and an irritation and customer inconvenience regarding such a relatively expensive tool; at this price, edge buffing should not be necessary. The deal breaker was a small patch of metal splatter (from machining?) I found inside the slide groove of the rule blade itself, where the clamping arm grips the blade. I probably could have meticulously sanded it down to a smooth concave finish, but I thought (with my luck) I could over do it and create a loose spot where the clamping arm would lose some of its grip. Instead I reluctantly returned the heirloom, while enjoying the typical superior return service of Amazon. Lesson learned: whenever possible, it's best to be able to "lay hands and eyes" upon those expensive tools in which you have very high expectations. The Starrett 13C is probably a great tool from a great manufacturer, I just happened to get one not quite finished and ready for prime time. Admittedly, I am a picky fellow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Get whats pictured and described., December 29, 2010

This review is from: Starrett 13C 6-Inch Double Square with Hardened Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
I gave this 4 stars because Starrett makes great tools the problem is that this item is portrayed as having two blades but only comes with one (Amazon's Fault). If you really want both blades do a search for "Starrett Bevel Square" and you'll get the listing that actually offer this square with the bevel blade. It's about $6 more but worth it if you want the extra blade.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inaccurate Description, March 1, 2009
It is a good square, but buyers should know that the "Product Description" and the photograph are inaccurate. There are no "Bevel blades that feature an octagon angle at one end and hexagon angle at other end." I'm still deciding whether to keep it or return it for this reason.
