Starlett automtic center punch is first of all, a very high quality American Made tool. My friend bought one for $12. and i thought it was nice, but then i saw my cousins starrett and i couldn't believe the difference. This is an amazing tool. It makes a small indent on wood, metal, whatever, and as small as it is is is ample to set your tailstock for the laythe (saw is used on tv), a pilot hole for drilling, etc. I highly recommend that you spend the extra money and buy this product. Oh, another point, i was also informed that this tool can also be used to shatter the glass in your car if you are even unfortunate enough to end up under water and have to break the glass. What i have been told. Don't know how true and am not that anxious to find out. enjoy it.

Starrett quality speaks for itself! Very nice center punch and adjustable for hard or softer strikes. Have used for sometime time and no wear on the point. Would definitely recommend.

I am familiar with Starrett products from my extensive experience in aerospace electronics and mechanics and they are the standard of excellence, so when I needed a center punch for work and did a search for center punches, once I saw that Starrett made them, I knew they would fit my needs. They are the best.
