The good:

-- Starrett Pro Site Protractor fits the holster perfectly
-- Holster facilitates carrying protractor on a belt up to 3 1/2" wide
-- Provides better protection than having no case at all
-- It's inexpensive.

The not good:

-- Imitation leather material is thin and cheap
-- Should have a protective flap over the end
-- Looks like it won't last long if used daily

Thought about sending it back, but it's not worth the effort to return a $5 item.

Should have had my wife make one.

This case is as advertised. I only wish that there was a flap to cover the top to prevent it from getting scratched. I know this a holster, but there still could be a top flap. I'll just put the protractor in upside-down.

Nice little padded pouch to protect your precious Starrett protractor while it sits in your tool box waiting to save you time on your next moulding project. It does have a built in loop for strapping onto your belt but the protractor slides in and out of the back pocket of your Wranglers a lot easier.

This tool has been very nice to have,very useful. Well constructed legs, I wish the markings were etched, Not an applied sticker. The markings are accurate but easy to scratch off.

I've tried different devices and protractors over the years. This one fills the need for me. Once you set the angle, it stays. It shows the miter angles for two cuts or angle for single cut. Easy to read and of course made very well.

Starrett is usually high quality and expensive. This was moderately priced but not as high quality as one would expect with the Starrett name attached. So far it is still functional but I doubt it would stand up to hard use.

When I first bought this, I wondered why. I just did a two story sunroom addition that has angled corners (like a hexagon). Absolutely needed this thing to cut the angles for framing and for trim work.

Even though I try to take care of my tools, sometimes they can unintentionally get abused. (especially in transit) I consider this holster cheap insurance to help guard against the bumps and bruises that tools endure daily. I wish more companies would offer the same type of protection for their products, especially the precision lay out types of tools, like the Starrett 505A-12 ProSite 12-Inch Dial Protractor. (a very nice, handy, well built tool, by the way) The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is because I think tools like this should come with a holster/sheath, without having to order one separately.

My husband is a remodelor and had wanted one of these for a while. Wished we had purchased it sooner! The protractor works like a dream. He's only used it once, but it made his job quick, easy and professional looking. He's looking forward to using it again and again.

The holster is great to use and keeps the protractor handy and out of the way. Too bad Starrett didn't see the need to make this heavy duty. The stitching came undone on mine in about 3 weeks. I'll have to have it restitched. The vinyl is very thin and I don't expect it to last long either. I will probably have to have a seemstress/leather worker make one that is built for the job.
