This is one of the most basic measuring devices found in the pocket of any tool and die maker. Starrett continues to make durable and practical tools. The C604RE-6 Six Inch Steel Rule is another accurate measuring devise made by Starrett. It is a basic 6 inch steel rule, but the selling point is that it is a quality, durable, and precision-made item that fits handily into any pocket protector for years of use.

Really, it doesn't. Starrett is well known for precision and this little jewel doesn't disappoint. The graduations are clear and easy to read. The end graduations come in really handy when measuring the height of a router bit or saw blade. It's expensive, yes, but clearly it's not a cheap made in Taiwan piece of stamped steel. Don't let it fall on the floor, that's the only think one must keep in mind.

If you want exact precision, this is your go to company. I have used them since pre-internet, when I had to mail away for them, and i have never once been disappointed.This six inch rule is very clear easy to read and the 1/32
graduations on the end help greatly for scribe offsets and small lip measurments.

As simple as it is, this is one of my absolute favorite tools. The end gradations are so much handier than you'd ever guess. Hard to cough up $20 for a 6" rule--just don't lose it or you'll have to buy another.

If woodworker should carry only one tool in the pocket, then this is the tool.

This is a solidly constructed rule with well defined (easy to read) markings. A lot of rules in the same category as the Starrett model C604RE are either a mixture of standard and metric or 10ths and 100ths of an inch markings. I chose this rule because it is standard on both sides and does not include 10/100ths, which I don't need. One side is 1/8th & 1/16th inch markings and the other side contains 1/32nd & 1/64th markings. This rule does not see heavy use, so, constructed as solidly as it is, will probably last a lifetime.

As a woodworker this is a prefect little ruler for setting up router bit height on a router table.
The heft of the ruler keeps it straight and true for accurate measurements time after time.

I feel that every cabinetmaker should own one of these little gems. It's extremely easy to read, super accurate and fits nicely in your shop apron. I find the end graduations very useful as well.

This is the top of the line grade scale that any craftman would treasure to have.
I own 3 differnt make scales and I always choose my Starrett scale when doing close tolerance work.
This scale is stamped deeper than most scales and is much easy to read .
Yes, this scale is four times the amount than most others but when it come to accuracy "Starrett" is the best you can have.

This is a nice, easy to read, handy sized rule. Perfect for setting up blade height, fence distance on your bandsaw, etc. I have a couple of Lee Valley 6" rules that are less than half the price, but they don't have scales on both sides and it's a combo metric/english rule. I rarely need the metric scale. Seems like when I'm using those rules I'm always wishing it had a scale on both sides. Not so with the starrett. Pricey but meets all expectations.
