I was not disappointed with Debra Holland's second book in her Montana Sky series. The reader was introduced to new characters while revisiting old friends from Wild Montana Sky. The author's description of the emotions of her characters was vivid and heart warming. I am ready for the third in the series,

Long after reading the last page of Starry Montana Sky, I found myself thinking of Wyatt and Samantha. This is a heartwarming story you don't want to miss.

Great story, once you start reading you don't want to put it down. Like a great movie, you just want the story to keep going and going. It was so easy to get caught up in their lives. mm

5.0 out of 5 stars Absorbing story, June 29, 2011

This was such a lovely story. I really enjoyed Wild Montana Sky (The Montana Sky Series), but this was just that bit more... It was a lovely, heart-touching romance between a rancher and a young widow (who breeds miniature horses), plus a story of the belief in the better side of people's (children's) natures, with only the faintest whiff of bible-thumping. The children's escapades were entertaining in their own right. This was one of those I-must-read-it-to-the-end-now stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect storyline, August 4, 2011

This book makes me want to live in the 1800's in Montana. The little horses add so much along with taking in orphan boys. Teaching responsibility with a tender heart, Samantha, made me want her as a friend. The hint of prejudice in the book gives it reality.

I can't wait until November when the next book is out. This is a great author and absolutely worth taking the time to read her books. Please don't miss this Montana Sky series by Debra Holland.

5.0 out of 5 stars Historical Romance with Falabellas!, January 11, 2012

What an enjoyable book. I loved Wild Montana Sky and this second in the series was every bit as good. Montana, late 1800's, is a tough place for a widow to raise a son, but Samantha is brave and big hearted and also adopts two orphaned boys (and then a third) who are considered the town troublemakers. There's romance and town hostilities and best of all, a small herd of Falabellas--I was so enthralled with these miniature horses, I actually looked up pictures. There's a third Montana Sky book coming out. Can't wait! This author knows how to weave a story.

I really enjoyed this novel. I believe was well written and researched. The author had done her research into the historical substance for the book. I enjoyed the wording and the play on words. I had trouble putting the Kindle down, I wanted to keep reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another must read for lovers of sweet western romances!, September 27, 2011

This review is from: Starry Montana Sky (Montana Sky Series) (Kindle Edition)
I love it when I get to visit characters from a previous book in the one I'm currently reading. Starry Montana Sky feels like an old friend because we get to visit with our friends from Wild Montana Sky.

But this book is so wonderful in its own right. Samantha, mother of two rapscallion troublemakers, struggles to make it on her inherited ranch while butting heads with her neighbor Wyatt. Such a fun book. Emotional intimacy, but a sweet romance. Lovely.

I hope there will be a third in this Montana series. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Story!, July 30, 2011

After the death of her beloved husband, Samantha Rodriguez and her son Daniel are virtually prisoners at the Argentinian ranch of her father in law. When she learns she's inherited her Uncle Ezra's ranch in Montana, she immediately travels there with the idea of making the ranch a sanctuary for orphaned boys. She brings with her six miniature horses. Wealthy rancher Wyatt Thompson wants Samantha's ranch, but instead ends up helping her. Her son isn't bad, but Wyatt isn't sure he wants his daughter associating with the boys Samantha gathers. This is one of my favorite books. Humor, pathos, and adventure liven the author's excellent characterizations. Debra Holland captuures the spirit and soul of western romance with STARRY MONTANA SKY.
