Editorial Reviews

7-10 Split has done it again! With The Stars Have Fallen, the band has fused the melody and precision of new school punk with the intensity and energy of hardcore & metal, helping to define a new sound in the punk/hardcore scene. They strove to create a unique album that captured their own sound, but also appealed to a mass audience – and it worked! 7-10 Split formed as a three-piece new school punk-metal band in 1997. They released two albums, Trial By Stone (1999) and Force Beyond Strength (2000) through Screaming Giant Records. Now, having added one more member, they are back with their third national release, The Stars Have Fallen. This long-anticipated project was recorded in June 2002 at the Nickel & Dime (Outkast, Sum41) and Fireball Studios, both in Atlanta. 7-10 Split tours full-time, so expect to see them in a town near you very soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Band, great sound., August 21, 2003
This review is from: Stars Have Fallen (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite CD's ever. 7-10 split has changed in so many good ways. Of course they were good back in the "trial by stone" days, Then again that was a very experimental time and 7-10 has long since changed their styles and sounds. "The Stars Have Fallen" is 7-10 Split's first full length CD on New School and with their 2 new guitarists. They sound great and I can only expect more from their next album, which is begins recording later this year.

If you were never a fan of Trial By Stone, which I know there are many of you, be sure to give this one a chance, the sound and messages have changed for the better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rivew of 7-10 Split's Album - THE STARS HAVE FALLEN, January 7, 2007
By
This review is from: Stars Have Fallen (Audio CD)
Even though this band is now defunct, this is a record that still should be listened to. I wrote this review in 2003 for my blog and the lead singer, Jon Ladd, found it a few years later and emailed me to thank me for the nice things I said. That is part of the reason these guys were so cool. Please read why you should own this record:

7-10 Split is my pick for a band you should be dancin' it up to. Oh and my friend, you will be doing a lot of dancin'! A quartet who fuses punk, sometimes poppy and sometimes straight forward, with big ol' metal guitar and drum parts. Sometimes singing, sometimes screaming, 7-10 Split are all over the place as far as diversity goes. They unify sound into a formidable piece of punk pie. While it may sound like they are ill assorted, the listener can expect a consistent sound every time. These boys who hail from the south (GA) are perfecting their sound, maturing as musicians, and moving the scene forward in a speedy and noble manner. They put out their two previous releases on the now dead Screaming GIANT Records. Their latest, THE STARS HAVE FALLEN, is not only their best effort to date, but also one of the better albums to come out in 2003. Put out by New School Records, this CD is the epitome of good music: fast songs, well written lyrics, heart, and soul. Whatever they are trying to express comes out on the album. The words are well formulated and carefully chosen to express what they were feeling at the time. And in my opinion, that is something mainstream music is missing today. So, be sure to listen to these guys. Recommended Songs: "Instruction Manuel," "In Denial," "Can't Take This," "Searching For Talbert Jenson," "Coathanger," "Three N One," and "Heartless."
