5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!, June 3, 2003
This a great addition to the TB series. The cover isn't one of the series's best, but never judge a book by its cover, right? Anyway, in the book, Star races in the Belmont and Christina graduates. Christina starts to worry about her future-should she stay a jockey like Vince Jones suggests or should she go to college to become a veterinarian and help the animals she loves like Cindy and Dani suggest? (this topic is stressed more in the TB book #60 Taking the Reins that has not come out yet) After graduation Christina focuses on the Belmont and Melanie becomes Gratis's new jockey after Wolf quits working for Tall Oaks. At Belmont something strange happens to Speed.com (U have to read the book to find out!) In the Belmont, Star breaks badly and doesn't get straight to the front like in Christina's strategy. She says that it isn't her race but Star refuses to give up.
READ ON IF YOU WANT TO READ WHAT HAPPENS!
Star wins the Belmont and passes the leaders (Celtic Mist and Gratis)and Christina and Parker get back together I think. If u read the book itsounds like it. They say, "Christina caught Parker's eye as she slipped from Star's back, and the proud look on his face made her realize that he really and truly cared for her. In spite of all the odds against them, she and Parker were going to make it, too.And as she looked from Parker to the majestic racehorse that had just risen to fame and success, she knew that she was looking at her future and everything was going to be just perfect." This is a great book and I hope u read it and enjoy it! It's one of my favorites ( I have a lot of favorites in this series) lol. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book, Taking the Reins!

4.0 out of 5 stars Much, much, MUCH better, June 1, 2003
By
I found this book in [a local store] and I knew(from the spoilers that I read :o) that I had to get it. It sounded soooooo much better then they have been.
First, my favorite character, Ashleigh, is finally back to normal(after being out-of-character in #57 and #58). It was great to see that. The next thing...well, I don't wanna give in away, so won't say :o. lol. Ashleigh's parents come back and you'll find out where they have been. There's a "sub-plot" about Alexis and Speed.com. And that was little out-of-the-ordinary...lol...so to speak.
However...i am IMPRESSED with this book. They're coming along....they(authors) bring Jilly and Craig into the book. And, Legacy.
If you had been disappointed in the past...read this book. It's MUCH better.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best!!, June 27, 2003
A Kid's Review
This was a great book!! It was mainly about Christina and Star getting ready for (and WINNING) the Belmont. But this book also talks about Chris and Mel renewing their friendship, Chris's future, Chris and Parker's relationship (I think they're getting back together and they should), and some drama at the track! I couldn't stop reading it and I finished it in 2 days! Great book, I can't wait for the next one!!
