Don't Buy This Book,

There is nothing worse than an author taking a previous short story and expanding it. Sometimes an author does so, but adds a new ending or expanded ending which improves the story. In this case, the author has added padding to the middle of the book, changing neither the beginning or the end. If you wish to read the better, short story, then purchase The Complete Bolo by Keith Laumer.

This was horrible. I quit after 50 pages. The main character seemed to be irrational and boring, and the other characters were struggling to reach even one dimension. Not to mention the glaring contradictions in the dates. In just a few pages, a document from 2011 is supposed to predate an event from 1992, and both contradict the back cover. This is a must-not-read.
Maybe it gets better, but if it can't suck you in in 50 pages, it's not worth it. |
