HILIARIOUS STUFF!,
This review is from: Stars of Space Jam: Daffy Duck [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video has 6 uncut fully-animated cartoons: FOOL COVERAGE, THE HIGH AND THE FLIGHTY, PERSON TO BUNNY, HOLIDAY FOR DRUMSTICKS, STUPOR DUCK AND BOSTON QUACKIE. In my opinion the best are "Fool Coverage," "The High and the Flighty" and "Holiday for Drumsticks." I guarantee you will laugh out loud on these three! Here is a brief summary on each cartoon for you: FOOL COVERAGE: (5 stars!) Daffy is a pushy [isn't he always?] insurance salesman and is determined to sign up Porky with a policy. The sales pitch? The policy holder receives one million dollars in the event of a black eye resulting from an accident in his home. Daffy proceeds to place earphones on Porky to read the fine print of course. "Provided the black eye occurs as a result of a stampede of wild elephants in your own living room on the 4th of July, in any year, [how generous of you Daffy! LOL!] between the hours of 3:55 and 4:00 pm during a hailstorm." This one cartoon is worth the purchase price for any Daffy lover. THE HIGH AND THE FLIGHTY: (5 stars!) You will adore this very much but especially if you love Foghorn Leghorn. [He and Daffy are my 2 favorite Looney Tune characters.] Daffy sells Foghorn gags to play on "old rover boy" and after each gag, goes to the dog and sells him something to pull on Foghorn. Foghorn and the dog find themselves setting up the same gag at the same time and decide that they have been "Flimflammed!" "Yeah, hoodwinked!" And together they get even. PERSON TO BUNNY: (3 1/2 stars) Daffy comes to Bugs Bunny's home during a televised interview and tries to butt in. When Bugs is asked how he escapes that "clever hunter, Elmer Fudd," Bugs says "Elmer Fudd clever? Don't make me laugh!" So of course Elmer is watching and literally "blows his top" and comes to pay Bugs a visit. While he is chasing Bugs all over Daffy is dancing for tv. Finally Bugs gets rid of Elmer and tells Mr. Burroughs that the only way they can get rid of Daffy is to put him on. So they do and Daffy gets stage fright. HOLIDAY FOR DRUMSTICKS: (5 stars!) This is so hiliarious! Daffy tries to help a turkey at the farm they both live on from getting eaten for Thanksgiving. This cartoon and "Fool Coverage" is worth the purchase price of the video! I have got to save this one as a surprise for ya! Hiliarious! STUPOR DUCK: (3 1/2 stars) Daffy is Cluck Trent, the mild mannered reporter, who changes into stupor duck...pretty good but not my favorite. BOSTON QUACKIE: (4 stars) Daffy is a secret agent who is given a briefcase by Porky Pig and is warned that every spy in the country will try and steal it from him. It is stolen right away and very funny how Daffy is running after the thief and Mary the duck actually saves the day! So this video averages 4 1/2 stars. (I will round up to five so that the average review rank will be 4 1/2 stars.) Note: If you are a big Foghorn fan, HIGH AND FLIGHTY is not one on the rare out-of-print Golden Jubillee 24 K Collection. STARS OF SPACE JAM / DAFFY DUCK is a hiliarious video at a great price! I highly recommend it for Daffy, Foghorn and Porky the Pig lovers!

Starring Stumbler,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: Stars of Space Jam: Daffy Duck [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Daffy Duck has been declared as the king of the ducks, throughout his animated career, but this collection still struts that showcase in the history of Warner Brothers. The Stars Of Space Jam collection, reflects six animated cartoons with the mallard of showmanship. The cartoons range simply from three directors, Robert McKimson, Friz Freleng, and Art Davis. Four of the cartoons are from McKimson, including Daffy's only cartoon with Foghorn Leghorn, The High And The Flighty, and zany toons with Porky Pig, Fool Coverage and Boston Quackie. While many other Daffy Duck collections still live up to par, this collection still comes in second place, right behind Daffy Duck: The Nuttiness Continues from Warner Brothers Golden Jubilee 24 Karat Collection. Egotistical or not, this quackmeister still stands a chance for stardom.

Stupendous Classics,

This review is from: Stars of Space Jam: Daffy Duck [VHS] (VHS Tape)
We remember these classics from childhood Saturday mornings, and it's great fun being able to share them with our toddler, who especially loves "Stupor Duck!"
